Welcome to the debut of Walk-On Wisconsin, a series of podcasts highlighting those walk-ons who are making a huge impact on the Wisconsin Badgers football team.  Former UW tight end Joel Nellis and B5Q's Jake Kocorowski for the next several weeks will break down performances of those "undersized, under-developed and under-recruited" during each game, while also previewing which Wisconsin player they look for to have a big game in the next. This week, Jake spoke with Wisconsin left tackle Ryan Ramczyk on coming to Madison, his adjustment from UW-Stevens Point to Division I, Big Ten football. 

The No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers return to Evanston, a place they haven't won in 17 years, as they will face the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday (11 a.m. CST, ABC). UW (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) appears it will have its star defensive standout, outside linebacker T.J. Watt, on the field after suffering a shoulder injury against No. 10 Nebraska last Saturday. How will Watt, Vince Biegel, T.J. Edwards and the combination of Leon Jacobs/Ryan Connelly step up to stop a rushing attack featuring Wildcats running back Justin Jackson and quarterback Clayton Thorson? Can an overachieving Wisconsin secondary stop Big Ten-leading receiver (and former walk-on) Austin Carr? The Wisconsin Badgers were dealt a huge blow to its defense, when it was reported outside linebacker and team captain Vince Biegel would be lost for at least the Michigan game, and possibly between 2-to-4 weeks, with a fractured foot. How will defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox compensate for the loss of the team captain and emotional leader -- will he bump Jack Cichy back to outside linebacker, rely on reserves Zack Baun and Garret Dooley to step in, or a combination of both? How can the Badgers stop tight end Jake Butt and a talented group of wide receivers, and how will they contain the versatile Jabrill Peppers?

The No. 11/No. 10 Wisconsin Badgers (3-0) begin their daunting 2016 conference schedule on the road Saturday as they face the No. 8 Michigan State Spartans. Head coach Paul Chryst made the change at quarterback, installing redshirt freshman Alex Hornibrook as starter over redshirt senior Bart Houston. How will the young southpaw react to a harsh environment at East Lansing in his first career start? How will Vince Biegel, T.J. Watt and the Wisconsin defense contain R.J. Shelton, Tyler O'Connor and the Michigan State offense? We'll discuss. The Green Bay Packers fell to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. We'll quickly recap their loss, what's ailing Aaron Rodgers and the offense, and what to look for this Sunday against the Detroit Lions. The Milwaukee Bucks lost Khris Middleton for about six months with a hamstring injury. They traded for Michael Beasley on Thursday, but how does the loss of one of their best players affect the team's outlook?

WHAT. A. WEEKEND. The unranked Wisconsin Badgers scored the upset of the opening weekend of college football with their 16-14 win over No. 5 LSU on Saturday. Zach Heilprin from Madison's Sports Talk Station 106.7 FM and the Wisconsin Sports Zone Network joins us to start the show with all things UW. How did quarterback Bart Houston perform in his first career start, and how much will he have to rely upon tight end Troy Fumagalli? How good can this defense be this year? What should we expect against the Akron Zips? One player that stepped up huge was former walk-on inside linebacker Ryan Connelly, who recorded seven tackles in place of the injured Chris Orr. We'll play the interview with the redshirt sophomore at the end of the show. We'll also play audio from defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox and outside linebacker Vince Biegel.  

The Wisconsin Badgers are less than two weeks away from facing Leonard Fournette, Dave Aranda and the LSU Tigers on Sept. 3 at Lambeau Field. Fall camp is beginning to wrap up, but they'll have to face their SEC opponent without left guard Dan Voltz -- who retired from football on Tuesday. We'll explain the significance of his injury and what it means for a still rebuilding offensive line. We'll play audio from running backs coach John Settle on the fullbacks, who have to replace Derek Watt.
