"These can be people that have built a tribe around a passion or expertise could be soup, fashion or fitness, they're basically getting paid to recommend the brands they're already featuring in their feeds" "Brands are falling over themselves to get every day people to create content that they can put in their social feeds themselves cos who better to create content that users love for the brand that the users themselves"

Jodie & Soda speak with Melbourne's Intercontinental 'The Rialto' General Manager Erik Stuebe after they provided lunch for 100 homeless after a company was forced to cancel an event at the last minute. The Langley Group had to cancel the luxury lunch at the InterContinental hotel The Rialto in Melbourne because it couldn't get enough paying customers. But after being told it was too late to get a refund, the consultancy company decided to invite the city's homeless to enjoy a free lunch today instead.

Jodie lets loose on the new trend hitting Australia as celebrities "sell their souls" for free products on the social media platform Instagram. "Yesterday I heard something on the radio and I just don't get it" "I don't understand why Bec Judd says if I show my breasts and my ass I get more followers on Instagram Jodie is frustrated that there's even local celebrities who are sending out rate cards showing prices for taking photos as personal endorsements for products!

Soda has an addiction and Jodie has had enough! Soda has been spending up big at 'Scotch + Soda', but his obsession with the European retail store is now causing problems around the office and even at home for Mrs Soda. Jodie explains "Your online shopping addiction has escalated to dangerous levels and it just doesn't affect you it's affected your love ones" "You're like a little addict sneaking off to get your retail fix!!!"

Jodie & Soda speak with Celebrity Agent & Publicist Max Markson who predicts that convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby will be likely be given a 12 month media deal including a book deal, television and magazine shoot. Even though the drug smuggler Schapelle Corby won't be allowed to cash in on her Bali saga with a pricey TV deal Markson says but there may still be ways to spin a buck. Jodie asked if there's a potential Corby could turned up on a reality television show now she's back in Australia, Markson replied "She will be invited to go on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! There will be the first pictures of her on a boogie board"

David Briggs joins Jodie & Soda after the passing of his wife Kerry who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer last year. The father of two tells the Mix1023 breakfast team his wife's final wish was for him to get fit & healthy and this why he's decided to compete in a half -marathon Sunday May 28. "I promised Kerry I would get fit and healthy for my kids... yeah now I'm training for a half marathon this Sunday" David explained it's been a hard 6 months for him and the kids but has been made easier by a huge support network helping the family. "You just put one foot in front of the other and it just drives you...the kids are pretty amazing there so much more resilient than adults" "The people that have rallied behind me, just pop in for a cup of tea when there in the area I've got some pretty good friends and parents I'm very lucky"

One of Australia's leading parenting experts' Dr Justin Coulson tells Jodie & Soda parents need to 'turn off' shocking news coverage to make kids feel safe and secure. The bombing at Ariana Grande's concert in Manchester could have a catastrophic effect on children who see distressing images so Dr Coulson says it's better to turn it off and not let them hear or see any images that may upset kids. "It destroys their belief in a world that is safe, secure and predictable... Jodie & Soda launch a new segment #FAKENEWS in response to newspaper articles taking their interviews with Tom Cruise & Russell Crowe out of context. "This is the headline on the Daily Mail, says 'F&*%$ off you knob: Russell Crowe has a spray at Australian radio hosts Jodie & Soda at The Mummy Premiere... and Tom Cruise wasn't impressed either...they went on to say an 'intense exchange occurred' . Really? Listen as we step through the 'facts' reported by the paper, alongside the audio of what actually did happen.

Jodie & Soda speak with Manchester local Joe who recently attended the Albert Square vigil where thousands of people attended waving "I heart Manchester" placards to show the victims of the Ariana Grande concert attack, that wherever they are from, "they are Manchester too". Joe works at Manchester radio station KEY 103 and says they have been getting so many calls from taxi drivers offering free lifts, companies delivering coffee to emergency services and from people just wanting to talk to someone. He also tells the story of a homeless man entering the area after the explosions to help evacuate children attending the concert. "He was begging outside the area, heard the explosion and rather than run away he run into the arena and was helping young kids and parents get out" "We are a resilient city; we stick together and this has proved it"

Soderstrom has been trying the ramp up support for his new radio segment where he gives listener's a 'brain teaser' but it seems Rusty wasn't going to play along... Channel 7 New Presenter Jess Adamson wasn't afraid to whack Mark 'Soda' Soderstrom's hair colour during a news segment on Adelaide's Color Run which left Soda giggling awkwardly. Adamson "Soda I think you still have a little bit of red dye still in your hair..." Soda responded with "Oh no I gave it a miss this morning..." Adamson "Well that's awkward then"

Soda responds to the bully who sent Jodie's a 3 page abusive letter and it brings Jodie's to tears... "I know exactly what sort of person Jodie is and that's why I'm very proud to sit next to you every day..." "To the woman that wrote that letter it says more about you than Jodie...I do hope that eventually you find some peace and happiness in your life because it must be pretty dark and lonely living with that much hate inside you"

Jodie's open letter to a bully received an overwhelming response but the most touching response was from 8-year-old Josh who is currently being bullied at school... Jodie read out a 3-page letter that was sent into the Mix1023 station from an anonymous listener... "I got a 3-page anonymous letter yesterday it spewed vile heinous stuff...it attacked every facet of my character from my laugh to my appearance to my family" "I can sit here and say to that woman today P*** off that is not ok" "Bullies trade on intimidation and they bank of being so nasty that people are frightened into submission, I won't do that...if that was my child that wrote that I would be absolutely ashamed"

Eleni Glouftsis will become the AFL's first ever female field umpire after earning her debut this weekend. The league has confirmed Glouftsis will officiate in the Essendon versus West Coast clash at Etihad Stadium on Sunday. Glouftsis told Jodie & Soda the training has been tough but she's excited for her debut "It's been a bit crazy, it's so positive and I just want to thank you for the support from everyone it's been amazing I can't wait for Sunday"

Jodie & Soda speak with US Correspondent for The Advertiser Sarah Blake who got an exclusive phone chat with Cassie Sainsbury, accused cocaine smuggler who is currently in a Colombian prison. In an exclusive interview the 22-year-old South Australian describes her life inside the prison where she has been held since being arrested a month ago and charged with trying to smuggle 5.8kg of cocaine from Colombia. She told Blake she feels there is no security in the jail and she doesn't feel safe from her fellow prisoners. "I got the sense she enjoyed the phone call and think she was quite happy to chat with an Australian... she's quite naïve as well as being quite young" Blake spent days calling the Bogota prison in hope to speak with Cassie who was happy to talk with the US Correspondent as long as it wasn't about the case and didn't let know if she would plead guilty or not.
