In 1936-1938 interviews with former slaves were collected under the Federal Writer's Project. Philly native, Shav'on Smith, has been producing a stage play where actors are reciting the actual accounts of slave narratives. About 95% of the cast are Christian actors and actresses who tell the story of enslavement, faith, and freedom. The play is a must see for all ages.
