Synopsis

Welcome to our historical true crime podcast. We're Jess and Michelle. We've been friends since high school. Now we're too old to be saying "legit," but we still do. One day we had a not-very-serious Facebook conversation about being the podcast we wanted to see in the world. Then it became a spreadsheet. Then it became a reality.

Episodes

  • Episode 4: The Belcher Islands Massacre

    11/08/2018 Duration: 01h02min

Today we visit Canada's north for a wild ride with a short-lived Inuit cult. The Belcher Islands in Hudson's Bay were once the site of a bizarre religious movement that resulted in the deaths of several people. We dive into the incident and the government's reaction to it, and go on surprisingly few tangents, most of which are about Geoff.

  • Episode 3: Sault au Cochon

    23/06/2018 Duration: 50min

This episode we discuss the 1949 plane crash in Sault au Cochon, Quebec that killed 23 people. Police initially thought it could be a communist plot, but the investigation instead led to the arrests of Albert Guay, Marguerite Ruest-Pitre, and Genereux Ruest. We also chat about Quebec place names, violent nuns, and Geoff's tragic baking mistakes. Also, Jess's math doesn't add up but she wants you to know it's the fault of the articles she read.

  • Episode 2: Enriqueta Marti

    10/06/2018 Duration: 48min

To celebrate Michelle's return from Barcelona, we've made an episode on (alleged) Catalan serial killer Enriqueta Marti. This episode is light on facts and heavy on tangents, such as why Jess is a hipster, why we both hate kombucha, and how it's so weird that kids these days don't remember Princess Diana's death.
