    19/09/2024 Duration: 01h08min

Whip out your tiny paint pots, dip your fine brushes in some water and get ready to very quickly give up on painting these tiny things because oh my god it’s so fiddly why does mine look so much worse than every one of these pictures, wait buying more of these would cost how much? In a bold new move for the world of video games, a Warhammer 40,000 game has been released and Adam and Ben have played it! This week we review the picture-book adventure game The Plucky Squire, and talk about the recent dissolution of Annapurna Interactive, progress on The Sims movie, and of course all the latest news about contemporary crypto mascot Flappy Bird.Patreon - every new episode ad-free and a world of bonus podcastsBandcamp Premium EpisodesYouTube - including live streams and Let's PlaysTwitch Hosted on Acast. • Episode 463: Astro Bot, PS5 Pro

    12/09/2024 Duration: 01h31min

This week we review the cheerful ghost of PlayStation past Astro Bot, and react to the expensive ghost of PlayStation future, the PS5 Pro. Are Sony being scrooges with that price? Is Astro Bot so fun that it'll have you flinging open a window and yelling "you there, boy, what day is it?" I'll be honest I only remember so much about A Christmas Carol so that's not necessarily a logical reaction to enjoying a game, but I had no other real element of the story in my head to draw from. Why even start calling Astro Bot and the PS5 Pro reveal "ghosts of PlayStation whatever" in the first place, you ask? I will not be taking questions at this time. Plus Tommy has been back to Nintendo for a preview of Mario Party Jamboree, we talk Peglin, and more besides all of that.

  • Episode 462: Star Wars Outlaws, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom preview

    05/09/2024 Duration: 01h10min

Whether it be Zelda or Leia, princess fans are sure to be satisfied this week as we talk about Tommy's hands on preview time with The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and Ben reviews his time with Star Wars Outlaws. If you're a fan of both princesses and surprising video game shutdown news then firstly: I guess it's good to know yourself that well but you have some incredibly niche interests, and secondly: yes we talk about Concord. We also chat PS5 Pro, why Adam doesn't like Argos, and a whole bunch more.

  • Episode 461: Slay the Princess, Arranger

    29/08/2024 Duration: 01h11min

Arrange a time to listen to this episode of Filthy Casuals because quite frankly it's slay. Now that I've repelled people with my cringe use of slang (and a second time by using the word cringe), let me reel you back in by telling you that this episode we've played games like Arranger and Slay the Princess, talk news like Nintendo's latest partner/indie Direct, even more PS5 price increases, plus a ton besides. It's, quite frankly, on fleek.Play Super Dassalo Land and then watch Tommy's stand-up special over at https://www.tommydassalo.com/

  • Episode 460: Gamescom 2024 Reveals, Still Wakes the Deep

    22/08/2024 Duration: 01h04min

Games? In Europe? Crazier things have happened! In fact, many crazier things, including us recording a podcast about the games being shown at Gamescom specifically. Video games were around for a long time in Europe prior to the advent of the internet, so my reasoning is that the existence of podcasts, one of the leading formats in this new era of digital media, is in fact crazier than the existence of games in Europe. I hope you can understand how I am seeing things. We talk crazy games like Civilization VII, Monster Hunter Wilds, Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country, as well as many more. Please enjoy this crazy event.Play Super Dassalo Land and then watch Tommy's stand-up special over at https://www.tommydassalo.com/

  • Episode 459: Listener Call-In Episode 2

    15/08/2024 Duration: 01h07min

  • Episode 458: Thank Goodness You're Here, Minishoot Adventures

    08/08/2024 Duration: 01h03min

Thank goodness we're here this week, equipment functioning despite bodies still not so much. But we must talk about Thank Goodness You're Here, Minishoot Adventures, losses at Bungie, Game Informer and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, and a whole bunch more. • 10 Video Games To Play Before You Die

    01/08/2024 Duration: 01h46min

In this special Premium Episode, The Filthy Boys take on one of the most important, terrifying and complicated facets of the human experience: the construction of a top 10 list. How Letterman did it night in and night out we will never know. We respond to a listener question and lay out our 10 MUST-PLAY games in this MIGHT-LISTEN episode. The reason we're releasing it on the regular feed in place of a normal episode? • Episode 457: 2024 Mid-Year Review

    25/07/2024 Duration: 01h16min

We're over halfway through 2024, so it's time to take stock of where we've been, where it looks like we're going, and where we are right now. Where we are right now? Recording a podcast. That's one third of the topics covered. The others will include looking back at great games like Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Dragon's Dogma 2, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Balatro and more besides, as well as looking forward to games like Metaphor: ReFantazio, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and more besides those too. It's been a crazy year, so thank goodness there have been some fun games to talk about. • Episode 456: Super Dassalo Land

    18/07/2024 Duration: 01h22min

Something a bit special this week, as we've got a genuine world exclusive video game announcement and preview. We had to pull a lot of strings, but we've managed to land a no-holds-barred interview with video game designer Tommy Dassalo about his new game Super Dassalo Land for the Game Boy Colour. By the way, I'm writing this in sort of a silly way but this is 100% real. Tommy's been working on an honest to goodness video game and we talk to him all about it, its retro design inspirations, the process of creating it, and where does he get his ideas from. All of these hard-hitting questions and more on this week's episode of Filthy Casuals.

  • Episode 455: Riven (2024), Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble

    11/07/2024 Duration: 01h25min

An a-PEEL-ing episode this week that will SPLIT your sides, the FRUIT of our labour on display in a BUNCH of different ways. That's right, Adam has played Riven: The Remake of the Sequel to Myst. Many classic comedy misdirects such as that one, and thankfully also some better stuff, in this episode, including Tommy's time with Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, Ben and Adam checking back in on their Shadow of the Erdtree progress, news like changes to Xbox Game Pass, some Bioshock rumblings, Ryu Ga Gotoku of Like A Dragon fame working on something surprising, and more!

  • Episode 454: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, Dwarf Fortress, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Preview

    04/07/2024 Duration: 01h31min

The Year of Luigi may have been many Dark Moons ago, but the big man in green is back and his definition is high enough that Tommy's gone in to have a look at what Luigi is up to in that Mansion of his. Less high is the definition of the Dwarves in Dwarf Fortress, but still higher than they used to be, and it's been enough to entice Ben to see what they're up to in that mountain of theirs. Kinitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is nearly out too, so we've had a look at what the demo could be up to in that games console of...its? We've got some games to play this week is what I'm saying, as well as some news out of Capcom and Sega about Crazy Taxi going massively multiplayer, Dead Rising going remaster mode and development of Resident Evil 9 going ahead. We talk about all this and more, so come have a listen to what we're up to in that podcast studio of ours.

  • Episode 453: Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Review

    27/06/2024 Duration: 01h10min

If an Erdtree falls in the forest, but the one person around to hear it is currently rolling around non-stop, will they be able to hear it? Just one of the thought exercises we get into this week, including examining deep questions such as what would it be like if one were to remaster Yooka-Laylee already? How many demoes of Rift of the Necrodancer and Metal Slug Tactics must a man play before he has played a full game? What is Beyond Good and Evil 2? And a question as old as time: do Ben and Adam like the Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree? Put on your round glasses and get ready to stroke your chin as you listen to another philosophical episode of Filthy Casuals.Patreon - every new episode ad-free and a world of bonus podcasts Bandcamp Premium EpisodesYouTube - including live streams and Let's PlaysTwitch Hosted on Acast. • Episode 452: Nintendo Direct, Indika

    20/06/2024 Duration: 01h11min

The Switch may be in its twilight years, but there's still life in the old girl yet, and Nintendo put out a few sunset surprises at this week's Nintendo Direct. We're talking The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, and even actual footage of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Plus there's Dragon Quest III HD-2D, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Ace Attorney Investigations Collection, and more remakes, remasters and rereleases that we were expecting. Plus we've played Indika, Alan Wake 2: Night Springs, and have even more to say besides.Patreon - weekly bonus episodes and secret Filthy discord and FB groupBandcamp Premium EpisodesYouTube - including live streams and Let's PlaysTwitch Hosted on Acast. It's a whale of a time!Note that we talk about Animal Well until about 50:30, we avoid spoilers it's mainly just broad discussion so you should be fine in my opinion, but that's where to head if you're desperate not to hear anything about it.Patreon - weekly bonus episodes and secret Filthy discord and FB groupBandcamp Premium EpisodesYouTube - including live streams and Let's PlaysTwitch Hosted on Acast.
