Synopsis
Maverick Media (on Blog Talk Radio) was arguably the Internet's No. 1 ranked entertainment talk radio show that nobody still heard of. Each week at 10 p.m. (eastern), show host S.B. Redd (The Maverick) displayed his versatility by engaging in entertaining and informative conversation with his invited guests. It was all about helping you to get over the 'hump' in your day.

Maverick Media Anniversary Bash
01/04/2010 Duration: 01h32min  Maverick Media will be celebrating one year on Blog Talk Radio this week, and The Maverick promises it will be fast-paced, hot, and entertaining.   Joining him will be author colleague Marissa Monteilh, whose literary pseudonym is Pynk. We'll be discussing her latest book titled Sexaholics and popular Just Say No to Married Men blog. And just when you think it hasn't gotten hot enough, Ms. Monteilh will be switching roles and grilling The Maverick about his upcoming book titled Husbands, Listen to Your Wives.

Lunch with Patrice Rushen
24/03/2010 Duration: 01h28min  This is a special Maverick Media segment because it will be airing at 1 p.m, eastern. rather than the usual 10 p.m. slot. This is to accommodate my guest, musical genius Ms. Patrice Rushen.   Ms. Rushen is scheduled for the first half-segment. For those who are not familiar with her career, it spans back to the mid-1970s. As a solo artist, her biggest hit was Forget Me Nots, which is from her Straight from the Heart album (1982). But in recent years Ms. Rushen is best known for becoming the first female the musical director for these prestigious awards shows: Grammy (2004-2006); in 43 years for the Emmys; and the NCAAP Image, which she worked for 12 consecutive years.   NOTE: The other half-segment scheduled with Dr. Roland S. Jefferson, author of White Coat Fever, did not go as planned. Maverick Media is working to re-schedule Dr. Jefferson at a later date.The Maverick's been there, done it. Now he's written the book.

The Better You
18/03/2010 Duration: 01h25min  In the first half-segment, life coach, book author and motivational speaker Towanna Freeman has been featured on America Online's Black Voices by social commentator Boyce Watkins. She is the founder of the Young Women's Empowerment Network. Her book titled Purposeful Actions, 7 Steps to Fulfillment was co-written primarily for women as a motivational tool.   In the second half-segment, Corey Washington, author of Plain Talk Volume I: Everything You Wanted to Know About Racism & Stereotypes, discusses his book that delves into fostering an open dialogue about race, racial stereotypes, and racism. His is a social studies instructor at the middle school level in Augusta, Ga.

Do You Have Sax-Appeal? (Re-airing)

It was originally aired back on Oct. 14th, 2009, and the invited guest that night was Mr. Gerald Albright, a Grammy award-nominated saxophonist.   Maverick Media will return live next week, March 17th, at its usual time of 10 p.m., eastern; 9 p.m., central; 8 p.m., mountain; and 7 p.m., pacific.

This week, he makes it happen.   Scheduled guests during the first half of this week’s segment: national selling author Erick S. A New Attitude
18/02/2010 Duration: 01h24min  Ms. Sharon Robinson may be best known for her co-writing Patti LaBelle's chart-topping single from the mid-1980s, New Attitude. But her mark in the music industry goes beyond that. Ms. Robinson's versatility is well known behind the scenes. She's either produced, composed songs, or sung background for noted artists like Thelma Houston, Aaron Neville, Stevie Nicks, and Randy Crawford. Since the late 1970s, she's collaborated often with music legend Mr. Leonard Cohen either musically or creatively. A Stalkers' Refrain: 'Till You Come Back to Me
11/02/2010 Duration: 01h15min  The Maverick is not deterred from last week's debacle which ruined his planned Pre-Super Bowl XLIV Party, thanks to Blog Talk Radio.   What a better way to get out of a BTR funk than to host a show with one of the rising stars of fiction writing, Ms. Electa Rome Parks, as we'll discuss her latest release, Diary of a Stalker, and items surrounding stalkers.   Ms. Parks is a former banking professional who began writing full-time when her job downsized her early last decade. She's also penned Ladies Night Out, Almost Doesn't Count, and Ties that Bind; she also contributed to an anthology titled These Are My Confessions.

Best-selling authors Stanley Bennett Clay, James Earl Hardy, and Terrance Dean, will update progress on their anthology that commemorates the late E.Lynn Harris and we'll touch on the topic, The Value of Friendships and Lovers.   Mr. Clay is a respected and acclaimed book author (Looker)and play writer. Mr. Hardy is the author of the B-Boy Blues series. Mr. Dean is author of his tell-all book Hiding in Hip-Hop: On the Down-Low in the Entertainment Industry..  NOTE: The timing of this segment coincides with President Barack Obama's State of the Union message. What White People Want to Know about Black People?
21/01/2010 Duration: 01h15min  Former NFL player Perry Tuttle will be chatting with The Maverick about his book titled What White People Want to Know about Black People but Are Afraid to Ask. In bringing a fresh perspective, Mr. Tuttle says he also wants to initiate healthy conversations between black folks and white folks.   The Maverick met Mr. Tuttle while he was working as a sports reporter covering Mr. Tuttle’s alma mater, Clemson, back in the late 1990s. In an article that earned The Maverick national honors, Mr. Tuttle is quoted as saying at the time cultural differences and a lack of understanding among both black and white people remains to be a big hurdle.   Mr. Tuttle was also a starting wide receiver on Clemson’s 1981 national championship football team. To this date, he is the only Clemson football player to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
