  • 50% Facts

    19/10/2016 Duration: 01h34min

The title of this episode is inspired by something Mike said while we were recording…but sometimes that sums up the show pretty well. We talk about an often-quoted study on the effectiveness of steroids on the untrained, and whether or not we told a bunch of inappropriate ethnic jokes at Bart Kwan’s expense when he was on the show last year.We watch and comment on the live stream of USAPL Raw Nationals, and Mark rips into politics within the IPF and USAPL. And we finish up with some NFL talk and a robot that does pushups and sweats.Mark Bell hosts with Michael Farr and Jim McDonald.

  • IFBB Pro Jon Andersen - Breaking the Surface (of Deep Water)

    16/09/2015 Duration: 01h35min

Former pro strongman and pro wrestler, and current IFBB pro bodybuilder, Jon Andersen joins us again...this time in studio. We talk about his approaches to training for three very different strength related sports, dealing with injuries and a reliance on painkillers while wrestling in Japan, and how one door closing led to another swinging wide open into the world of pro bodybuilding. He also gives us insights on changes he's made in his diet and training to reach his bodybuilding goals. (And, of course, since Jon told us one of the most popular poop stories in the history of the show, we talk about that some, too.)You can find Jon at DeepWaterMethod.com. Mark Bell hosts Michael Farr and Jim McDonald. Jim McDonald produced.

  • Fueled by Caffeine in 2014

    08/01/2014 Duration: 01h04min

Silent Mike bravely tries to keep us on the topic of lifting as we veer into discussions of the guy on Reddit who has two dicks, cheese made from someone's belly button fuzz, and the Blade Runner, Oscar Pistorious. On-topic subjects include a couple new sponsors for the podcast (Bodybuilding.com and the lifestyle brand Caffeine and Kilos), transitioning from geared to raw lifting, the upcoming Raw Unity meet, what Mark Bell's fantasy powerlifting meet would look like, common misconceptions about well-known lifters, general physical preparedness (GPP), and guidelines for gaining weight sensibly. Mark Bell hosts with Mike Farr and Jim McDonald.
