Tameron “Tami” Carpenter was a bright, bubbly 10 year old during the summer of 1979. She was a student at the aptly named Ocean View Elementary School in Arroyo Grande, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean and the Pismo Dunes. Her friends and family described her as sweet and outgoing, and that summer her favorite things were roller skating, swimming and apples. By many accounts, Tami was a typical preteen enjoying summer break. But, there was also a grim side to her young life: Tami had been molested more than once by a family friend, a man named William Record who was 53 at the time. Tami was preparing to testify against her abuser at his trial, when one day she doesn't come home from a day at the swimming pool...Support the show
