Sam Kendricks took silver after clearing 5.95m, and Emmanouil Karalis finished in bronze with 5.90m. – Beatrice Chebet took home Olympic gold in a chaotic women’s 5000m race in 14:28.56. After originally being DQed, Chebet’s countrywoman Faith Kipyegon took silver and Dutchwoman Sifan Hassan won bronze in the first of her three finals at these Games. – Keely Hodgkinson won the women's 800m crown with her time of 1:56.72.
