        The vision of an animal sanctuary and a pit bull rescue were just two of the ideas of Bully Ranch, recently started by married couple Paul Hendrix and Diane Blastic.  Paul and Diance,  members of the Austin Facial Hair Club, have been working with pitbulls for sometime now and have nothing but love and admiration for the breed. They have invested considerable time into understanding the training and the demeanor of this often understood animal.   In our conversation about Bully Ranch, we touched upon how everything finally came together for this to happen and how the loss of their beloved Trejo was the final piece. “His death devastated us.     Kenny Parbel is the President of the Ohio Chapter and SGT.      Beards Behind Bars 2 was held a few weeks back at the historic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield Ohio.  The Beardcaster attended this event, where he placed 3rd to Luke Sumpter, 2nd place, and Butch Amos who won the goatee category.  The best part of the evening was a tribute beard by Natali Johnston of the Holy City Beard and Mustache Society in the Whiskerina “Natural” category.  When the Whiskerinas make “tribute” beards they usually pick an influential person in the bearding community and try to emulate their style, their look, and their facial hair as best as they can.  Natali chose to make her tribute to me, The Beardcaster.  She did such an amazing job with all the details she included in the tribute.  The hair color was spot on and the outfit was on point.  I had actually given Natali a microphone and recorder earlier in the afternoon so she could play around and record some silly stuff.  Little did I know she was going to use those [pieces to complete her best masterpiece yet!  I had planned

Aaron Left is the public relations officer for the The Moustache and Beard Social Club and owner/operator of AJ's Elixirs.  They are about to host the The 7th Annual Northern California Beard And Moustache Competition at the California Automobile Museum in Sacramento on April 21st.   Regev Nystrom has been doing freestyle beards for almost 35 years and has moderate success with his creative designs.   Alice Jelley is a World Champion Whiskerina. Hailing from Bath England, Alice had the honor of being crowned #1 Creative Beard at the World Beard and Mustache Championships in Austin Texas in 2017.  She was recently a judge at Come and Shave it 12 in Austin Texas, and we sat down to discuss many things “beard”.  It was a pure delight to hang out with Alice and hear about her adventures in the facial hair world and how they have made her an international champion.  We talked about how she found her interest in “creative” beard making and how it has evolved and we also chatted about her love of Star Trek.  Alice is a very interesting woman doing some really creative things in the beard and mustache scene, enjoy this informative and entertaining talk!  I also included a fun Live Q and A excerpt from The Roughneck Beard and Mustache Facebook Group that happened with Andrew Mattson, a supporter of The Beardcaster.  I asked a whole bunch of great questions and Andy answered them in his comical "Candy Andy" way.

Every beard, or mustache, grower has gone through a few moments in their facial hairs life where it just drives them crazy.  I am joined by MJ Johnson and we discuss the things that irritate us with our beards.  Everyone can relate to at least one Beard Beef that we talk about-we all are afflicted with something that our beards make more difficult for us everyday.  We have made a big commitment with growing and caring for our "investment" that we end up dealing with all of these issues and continue to charge ahead and accepting the beefs for the glory.  I hope you enjoy this episode, MJ is a class act and was super fun to chat with.     Small towns can breed some interesting people.  I traveled thousands of miles to meet with an interesting fella, Doug White, and talk all things beard clubbing.  President of the Beards of the Old Northwest Rock Creek Chapter, Doug has a great group of guys surrounding him that really help out their local community.  They all have big hearts and the desire to do good things for those that are in need as opposed to use club status in a competitive nature.  I really learned a lot about how a club can pull together with a common goal, and drive, to make a difference.  The Rock Creek club have teamed up with the Beattitude House to continuously help them collect items that they need and to also help them fix up their facilities back to working order.       The Paranormal world is something Doug is interested in as well as I and we discussed Sasquatch, ghosts and ufo's.  We also discussed the Mansfield Reformatory, home of Beards Behind Bars 2 this summer, as being one of the most haunted places to visit in th
