The God of Genesis 1:1 is the God we have given our lives to. The basic truths there are the basis for our faith. Disbelief of these simple facts is the beginning of foolishness and the darkening of the heart.

God does not answer us on our timetable. Waiting on Him is difficult, but God remains silent to refine us, to better us, and to cause us to pursue a deeper relationship with Him than we thought possible. Stand watch and wait to see what He has to say.

Jesus the Son has given us permission to have a relationship with God the Father. We need to understand that he is holy and righteous and cannot dwell with sin. The Holy Spirit encourages us to be holy. Although God is big, He is approachable.

How do we respond to being told no? Sometimes God says no as a consequence of our sin. God owes man nothing. Just because we are enthusiastic about doing something for God does not give us a right to do it. Be content with the tasks He gives you.

It is a scary world and getting scarier all the time. There are a lot of rational reasons to fear. We need to fight that fear with rational courage, which comes from knowing who God is. The longer we walk with Him, the more reasons we have to trust Him.

Glory be unto the God who gives us salvation. Although we cannot yet see Him in His full glory, one day we will. In this present life, when we focus on His glory, our problems fade away. In heaven, His glory will be proclaimed for eternity.

Exalting God for what He is able to do increases our faith. He can keep us from falling by guarding us both now and in eternity. He can present us as faultless before the throne of God. And He intercedes for us now.

A doxology is an expression of praise to God (literally "glory words"). There are many in the Bible, but all position us in relation to Him. We benefit from them because they put the focus on God, strengthen our faith, and honor Him.

What does resurrection mean to you and me? We are in church today because He isn't in the tomb. The sin nature is within us all. He died for that sin but no one would live for a dead idol. Yet He has risen! Our call is to live for Him who lives.

We celebrate to remember meaningful and significant events like Palm Sunday, which is a reminder of the arrival of the Savior. Although Jesus did not save the Jews from Roman persecution, He provided a much greater salvation for all who call on Him.

We must be compassionate to believers who struggle with their faith and listen to their concerns. Other Christians who are tangled in sin need to be snatched out of their circumstances. Be aware of your own vulnerabilities to sin when helping others.

God is near to us and His spirit lives within believers. We can approach Him any time in prayer, which is effective for change, especially within ourselves. Our hope is in His return and when He does, He should find us watching and waiting for Him.

Christians must build themselves up because an unattended garden produces only weeds. Faith is not a one-time event. We need to continue in it and follow God. No teacher or pastor can do it for us. Be in the word daily and be set apart for God.

His love is always constant, but we are not so we must work at keeping ourselves in harmony with His love. We must understand that His love for us is not based on anything that we are, so we can trust that it is constant, but then we must live in it.

The love of money is a key motivator for people to try to gain authority and oppose the things God has ordained. Shepherds who take care of only themselves are ungodly and have a dark fate awaiting them. Look at people's lives and have discernment.

The title of Lord that Jesus bore was not something that He had to attain. It was His from the beginning. Given this truth, our obedience to His word should flow out of our love for Him. Fortunately, we have the Holy Spirit to guide us.

We enter heaven by God's grace. It is God who gets all the credit. His grace allows us to do good works such as forgiving those who have harmed us. Receiving this grace requires the humility to admit we cannot live a Christian life by our own strength.

Because of hard hearts, Israelites wandered the desert. Because of high aspirations, angels were cast down from heaven. Because of immorality, Sodom and Gomorrah were burned. Because God is just, there is a hell. Because He sent Jesus, there is hope.

Every false teacher denies who Jesus is or His sovereignty in some way or another. Many emphasize human will over God's. We have freedom in Christ, but it is freedom from sin not freedom to sin. The word of God teaches us to say no to worldly lusts.

Since there are so many false teachers and doctrines, it is our duty to defend the truth. The faith was entrusted to us to protect. This requires that we study the word, object to falsehoods, and pass Christian faith on from one generation to the next.
