Synopsis
Mom life: were surrounded with the message that its the tired life, the no-time-for-myself life, the HARD life. And while it is hard and full of lots of servitude, the idea that motherhood means a joy-less life is something Im passionate about putting a stop to. Im on a mission to help you stop counting down the minutes till bedtime (at least most days). I want you to stop cleaning up after your kids childhood, and start being present for it - start enjoying it. I believe in John 10:10, that we are called to abundant life, and I know mothers are NOT excluded from that promise. Join me in conversations about simplicity, minimalism, and lots of other good stuff that leads to a life of less for the sake of enjoying more in motherhood. Im Allie Casazza, and this is The Purpose Show.

BONUS: How to Stop Multitasking & Practice Mindfulness Day-to-Day
12/04/2019 Duration: 35minMultitasking may feel like you are getting a lot done, but when you really think about it, are you? Because, truthfully, we can’t show up in multiple places at once. We can’t show up for a workout, plan our calendar, and think about dinner at the same time. Maybe we can, but are we doing it well? Probably not. Multitasking can create this inner noise and feeling of things getting done in a rushed or hurried way. We need to show up well and be fully present in life instead of just letting it pass us by. This is something I am totally learning right now and I am excited to share the journey with you! Ep 101: Stop Over-Complicating Decision Making
10/04/2019 Duration: 26minWe all do it. We all over-complicate decision making because sometimes it is easier to not make a decision than to take action on a decision. But unmade decisions carry unnecessary weight and unwanted stress that shouldn’t have to carry. Some decisions cannot be made right away and need time, but whenever they can be made right away, just do it. Just get it done. Do what you have to do to come to a decision as quickly as possible - then you won’t have to carry that load any more! On the flip side, if you have a big decision to make I hope you find this episode helpful as I share how I process making decisions (and avoid over-complicating them!) 20/03/2019 Duration: 38minPostpartum Depression is real. It happens to so many women and isn’t talked about enough. PPD is part of my story and it deeply impacted my relationship with Bella, my first born. But we have come a long way and because of that, I think it is time I share our journey and how we got to the healthy place we are today. And I want to give you freedom, if you are struggling with this too. You don’t have to be the victim forever. PPD is only your story if you let the pen keep writing that way. If you don’t want that anymore, write a different story. Make the choice. I did and it saved my relationship with my daughter! Ep 096: Real Women Are Strong Women
06/03/2019 Duration: 26minSometimes we shame ourselves, but a lot of the time it's other people who shame us. From breastfed to formula fed, working from home or at a 9 to 5 office job, having a clean home or a messy home, your birth plan, how you school your kids, and so much more. Shame comes in all directions and most of us feel like we never do anything right because we are being shamed all the time. But we have to stop this! No one is going to come in and help us with this. We have to be on each other's side. We have to shut this down. We have to stop judging each other. All we have is each other and we have to stop turning against each other. Who is with me?? Let’s do this together. Everything I talk about in this episode can be found HERE: http://alliecasazza.com/shownotes/096 Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ep 095: Allie & Brian Get A Marriage Coaching Session From a Personality Expert
30/01/2019 Duration: 53minA few months ago I had Enneagram expert and coach, Beth McCord, on the show to discuss all things Enneagram. In this episode, Beth is chatting with Brian and I about the Enneagram in the context of marriage. It’s a fun coaching, therapy session! We get real vulnerable as we discuss our personality differences and the hot button issues in our marriage (everyone has one!). Beth helped us navigate how to handle issues that continuously come up in our marriage! We've seen a big difference in the mutual respect level between us and that is because Beth helped us understand each other’s personality! She is amazing and inspiring, and I know you will walk away challenged in your own marriage. Ep 094: The 5 Biggest Mistakes Moms Make When Trying to Ditch the Clutter
23/01/2019 Duration: 26minWhen I started my journey to decluttering my home, I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how to make it happen. At the time, I could only find help with organizing clutter, not clearing it - and I wanted to clear it out! I learned a lot along the way which is why one of my main missions is to help you declutter faster, quicker, and more effectively. I want to take you all the way to the other side of simplicity and experience the joy and freedom in half the time. So here are the 5 biggest mistakes I see people make (and I have made myself!) when it comes to ditching the clutter. Ep 093: Stop Over-Complicating Exercise
16/01/2019 Duration: 21minI don't think there is anything that has been more blown out of proportion and overly complicated than exercise. People obsess over the form, the type, and the amount of exercise. They read massive books on the topic all while procrastinating the actual task of exercising. And so many people set a New Year’s goal around exercise that quickly becomes overcomplicated and they give up within the first few weeks. But exercise doesn’t have to be overcomplicated. Exercise is a good thing - it decreases stress, improves sex, improves mood, and so much more! Exercise gives you a really great life and improves so many things. But you’ve got to make it happen! You're in charge. You are an action-taking problem-solving woman and that type of woman ditches excuses. Don’t overcomplicate it. Just make it happen! Ep 092: Getting Your Unwilling Family On Board With Minimalism
09/01/2019 Duration: 23minWhen I first started my journey to living minimal and simplified, Brian was not on board. It took him a few years to really get it and join me in it. But not everyone in life will understand or support the decision our family made to live minimalistically. When it comes to getting your unwilling family on board with minimalism, the bottom line is that you cannot control other people. This is your life, your kids, and your home. Don’t let anyone make you feel guilty. Don’t hold onto things out of obligation. Just do what you feel like you need to do to live a purposeful, intentional life focused on what matters! Ep 091: Delegation & Automation For Moms
02/01/2019 Duration: 50minDelegation and automation are hot topics in the business world, but they can also be applied to our personal lives - especially as mama’s! You don’t have to do it all! You can delegate to people outside of your home or you can delegate to your kids. You can automate things you know have to get done (like laundry and dishes) in order for your home and family to run smoothly. Trust me, delegation and automation will bring you so much freedom! And I hope this episode causes you to reflect and take action in some way to bring those things into your life! Ep 090: Day-After-Christmas Decluttering Pep Talk
26/12/2018 Duration: 11minIt is the day after Christmas … and I hope you had an incredible holiday! For my family, the day after Christmas is always the best day to declutter. Why? Because we are all much more willing to get rid of the toys, clothes, and stuff we collected through the year since we just opened up new ones. This doesn’t have to bring down the holiday spirit by any means either. It can be a super fun and interactive way to celebrate the season and gear up to start a New Year! Ep 089: Minimalism For Those Who Enjoy Shopping
19/12/2018 Duration: 19minThere is this awkward tension in our culture where we feel we have to choose between being minimalist and enjoying shopping. Why can’t we choose both? Just because we enjoy shopping doesn’t mean we buy everything we see on the shelves. I enjoy shopping! Strolling the aisles of a store is where I find inspiration and get refreshed. For me, it is about browsing and enjoying, without feeling the pressure to buy every single thing I find that I like. I'm not shopping to shop. I am shopping because I truly enjoy the process of being out and finding inspiration! And I know that like me, a lot of you would say the same. So I hope this episode encourages you to find freedom in being a minimalist who enjoys shopping. Ep 088: Getting Intentional with Holiday Traditions
12/12/2018 Duration: 15minThis time of year it sometimes feels like we've got things kind of backwards. We care so much about creating a special holiday and not missing out (you know, we all have FOMO) that we go way too far and end up trying to create such a special atmosphere, that it's very not special. We go out of our way with our traditions, we stretch our schedules and budgets thinner than we are comfortable with just to make Christmas super special. It ends up ruining the special occasion we tried tirelessly to create! It's like our traditions have become really overbearing. They start to feel really heavy and they're not fun anymore. We have stopped looking forward to them. Traditions should not detract from the season. They should elevate it. So, let’s put our traditions under the light of intentionality and get back to what serves us and our families best in this season. Ep 087: A Simple Christmas
05/12/2018 Duration: 31minHello December. Hello Christmastime! Hello trying to be minimal and simple during Christmas. Anyone struggle with this? I think much of the problem is that our society puts an overwhelming amount of pressure on Christmas and focus on the wrong things. We reach for what we want rather than what we need (and what will bring us true joy). Not to mention the serious FOMO we face during the holiday season! We're afraid that if we don't buy lots of presents, overbook our calendars with holiday activities, and go all in that we're missing out, or our kids are missing out, and we're not doing a good job. Like we aren't giving them a proper Christmas. But everyone has has different family situations, budgets, and ideals that need to be considered. I hope you find this episode encouraging and helpful as you take action on simplifying your Christmas! EP 086: Becoming Your Full + True Self with the Enneagram (with Enneagram Coach Beth McCord)
28/11/2018 Duration: 46minIf you're unfamiliar, the Enneagram is a personality test of sorts, but it's so much deeper than that. It has been a vital tool in understanding myself, my husband, and my children better. It has helped me heal some serious wounds from being misunderstood. And it has really helped me feel more alive and confident in who I am! The Enneagram will guide you through transformation and growth as you walk through a simple three step process of discover, explore, and become to your truest self. Beth McCord is a wealth of wisdom on this topic and I am so excited for you to hear from her perspective in this episode! Ep 085: Stop Over-Complicating Things
21/11/2018 Duration: 14minIt is SO easy to overcomplicate things. We spend so much time looking for the perfect answer instead of looking for the best answer for right now. We prolong jumping to action and learning as we go. And let’s be honest, most of the time we are afraid to say “yes.” One thing I have learned in my own life is that the best adventures and most beneficial things come from saying “yes” way before I was ready and way before it was perfect. Sometimes you have to just go for it and stop overcomplicating things! Ep 084: Putting Off Decluttering? I Wrote Your 'Why' For You
14/11/2018 Duration: 22minWhen it comes to decluttering, many people get stuck on the hurdles that come up in the process. They don’t take action, they procrastinate, and they never dive into it. When I realized that my stuff didn't have to own me and that I could live my life instead of cleaning up after it all the time, everything changed. What you need in order to take on anything new, anything hard, any big change in moving away from the life you've lived and into the new life you're going to live, what you need to do that, is a solid ‘why’ underneath you. Your ‘why’ will push you forward to keep going and keep making these positive changes when things get in the way and it feels too hard. So if you are putting off decluttering, I promise this episode will show you why you need to do! Ep 083: Let's Talk About Working Mom Guilt
07/11/2018 Duration: 38minWorking motherhood has so many different angles. And whether you work full time or part time, work outside of your home or from your home, working mom guilt is a real thing. We all struggle with it at one point or another. We don’t want to miss the first moments of our kids lives or the activities they are involved in, we don’t want them to think that all we do is sit on our computers or phones all day working, and we definitely don’t want them to resent us for working. So how do we deal with our guilt? How do we balance work and life? How do we teach our kids to value good work ethic? (Because they will grow up and enter the workforce one day!) If there is one thing I know, it is that being a working mom doesn't mean show up, be perfect at everything, have a super clean house, be an awesome cookie baker, come to every game, be super rich, run an amazing business or do amazing at your job. It means prioritize what matters, show up where you can, and find the balance in seasons. Show your kids what a healthy
