Are we at fault, at least to some extent, for the inability of our gaming heroes to admit to their own faults, their human weaknesses and instead encourage them them to do everything they can to save their image, an image we as a community have helped to create, even if it means mistruths, misdirection and worse being told to that very community? I received an email (echoing many of the comments I've seen on Facebook and elsewhere) questioning my conclusions on the Frank Mentzer Dragonsfoot Fiasco based on the grounds that Frank is an honorable man that would not lie. I like Frank. Really. He was one of the first of the "old guard" to acknowledge me and the Tenkar's Tavern blog. That doesn't mean I ignore evidence because I like the man.
