  • Tribal Belonging & Real Communities w/ Daniel Kazandjian

    19/09/2021 Duration: 01h05min

Daniel is a Toronto-based philosopher and productivity coach. He's very thoughtful and he's been on this show 3 times now; each of which are very insightful, engaging and earnest. In this episode, we talk about his quote that "All your goals are just shitty proxies for tribal belonging." which I really like and resonate with. I share with him my idea for what community really is - real relationships of care, as opposed to merely a shared narative. We jam. I love this guy. Enjoy. • Jordan Hall - Parenting, Paragliding and Pono

    07/09/2021 Duration: 01h39min

Jordan is one of the most insightful cultural observers alive. He has uniquely described to us the 'Deep Code' of our culture, in an incredibly nuanced and articulate way. He has been one of the biggest intellectual influences in my life in the last 3 years and I've been looking forward to this conversation for that entire time. I'm so pleased to say that this conversation went, almost instantly, out of intellectual space, and into a space about embodiment - which is right where it belongs. THANKS JORDAN!!! • Hive Mind

    28/06/2021 Duration: 45min

I'm back from a paragliding competition and my mind has been running nonstop thinking about the analogies between the gaggle of paragliders working together to fly fast and the human cooperation on earth. In this episode I explain a lot of my thoughts around these analogies and how I think our perspective about our own success can radically alter how we contribute to rising the tides for all boats. • The Shared Thread

    17/06/2021 Duration: 35min

We all have a shared thread of..... trauma. It is trauma that makes us take our first breath. It is trauma that shapes our psyches, our personalities, and ultimately, our relationships. We are amidst an epidemic of denial to this fact. We are constantly, collectively, repressing this fact that we have trauma, which cuts us off to this shared thread of humanity. We repress our emotions, downplay our suffering, and disconnect ourselves from what is innately human - trauma and suffering. This disconnection doesn't make the trauma go away, oh no. It merely pushes it into the shadow, into the darkness where it manifests anywhere it can. It will not let itself be unheard, and if we won't consciously acknowledge it, it will drive us through our subconscious. I hope this episode will help you understand that trauma and existence are one in the same. I hope it will help alleviate some of the shame that keeps you from holding your sweet wounds near and dear to you. I love you, thanks for listening. Consider becoming

Strange at first, profound to ruminate on. Lots of my own experience in here.

  • Am I Doing It Right? Do You Love Me?

    04/08/2020 Duration: 22min

Our identity loops - the process in which we are guided, affirmed and given feedback - are broken. They used to be closed by our parents, our families, our communities. Now they are being highjacked by social media. There is a wave of depression, suicide and meaninglessness that has arrived on our shores and we are turning a blind eye to its cause. We are pretending to not know why this is happening because we are, ourselves, addicted to it. We as parents are still seaching for our identities online, and our children are paying the costs. The question of 'Am I doing it right? Do you love me?" is something that we need to bring into the light, because we are all asking it and we always have. Our children are asking it, and we're no longer answering. We're leaving them to fend for themselves, online, with the mob of group think and keyboard warriors. This is fucked. Get off social media. Do it right now. Delete the apps. Block the websites. Do it for yourself and do it for your children. We don't know where t
