Levy Lets Fly "The NRL is kidding itself"
19/09/2018 Duration: 04minMacquarie Sports Radio Breakfast Host Mark Levy has let fly at the National Rugby League for its "pathetic response" to the plight of our farmers struggling through the worst drought since the 1960s. The NRL is pledging $100 for every point scored during the Finals Series with the tally standing at 261, translating into $26,100 raised for drought relief with just 3 games left in the 2018 season. Levy thinks the billion dollar game should be doing more and says, "It's time the NRL took a leaf out of the Racing NSW book after Peter V'Landys donated $1 million to the trainers, owners and jockeys doing it tough in the remote areas." Mark Levy was also contacted by the President of a Country Rugby League club in NSW who has asked the NRL for help prevent the club from folding, but the "boffins at Rugby League Central" pointed him to the drought relief initiatives on the website.
