Ep 799 | Raising Victims: How Leftism Holds Black America Back | Guest: Leonydus Johnson
03/05/2023 Duration: 51minToday we're joined by Leonydus Johnson, political commentator and author of "Raising Victims: The Pernicious Rise of Critical Race Theory," to discuss where our country is headed when it comes to how we deal with race. We discuss his accidental fall into the political sphere after realizing the lies of the Left. We talk about why people who claim to be apolitical tend to vote leftward and explain why the ideas of the Left in theory sound so appealing to the unengaged person. We also discuss the rise of BLM and social justice bullying and the real definition of critical race theory and DEI. And Leonydus shares his definition of color-blindness and explains his argument for moving to a post-racial society. --- Timecodes: (00:55) Accidentally falling into politics (03:46) Why do apolitical people lean to the left (05:30) Obama and the shift of mainstream opinion / BLM (18:10) Critical race theory (28:20) Reasons for disparities (35:06) Equality of opportunity / equity (46:44) Colorblindness --- Today's Spon

Ep 798 | America’s Sacrificing Orphans on the Altar of Transgenderism | Guests: Jessica Bates & Christiana Kiefer
02/05/2023 Duration: 39minToday we're joined by Christiana Kiefer, senior counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom, and her client Jessica Bates, who is suing the state of Oregon for denying her the opportunity to adopt two children because she would not comply with the state’s policy to “respect, accept, and support" any child's sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Jessica tells us her story, from losing her husband in a tragic accident to becoming a single mother of five and seeking to provide a home for even more children. Christiana shares the legal details and why the state of Oregon (among other states) appears to be valuing LGBTQ affirmation over putting children in loving homes. Then, we take a look at the wildest Met Gala outfits. --- Timecodes: (01:05) Jessica Bates' story (11:50) Speed bumps to adopting in Oregon (18:02) Lawsuit (27:11) What can the average person do? Ep 797 | Can Women Teach the Bible ... at All?
01/05/2023 Duration: 01h01minToday we're discussing gender roles in the church, preaching vs. pastoring, and what a woman is allowed to do biblically. There is a debate circulating on social media over whether women should be able to teach academic theology or exposit the Bible even to other women. We start with definitions of biblical patriarchy, complementarianism, and egalitarianism. The patriarchal view says that if a woman is to teach other women, it must be within the bounds of child-rearing and homemaking. We explain why hierarchies in the home and church are important, but why complementarianism is different from biblical patriarchy. We all have proper context and responsibilities for our gifts, but while we agree that women should not be pastors or teach in pastoral roles, we don't see biblical support for the idea that women can't be talking about academic theology publicly, generally speaking. We look at John Piper's breakdown of complementarianism and touch on theological works written by women and discipleship. --- Timecod

Ep 796 | Former Lesbian Activist Calls “Soft” Christians to Repentance | Guest: Rosaria Butterfield
27/04/2023 Duration: 59minToday we're joined by Rosaria Butterfield to hear her amazing testimony of how she found Christ after years of living in sin. She shares her story of coming to Christ, from being raised by secular Catholics, to coming out as a lesbian and becoming an esteemed feminist academic, to finally being saved and dedicating her life to God. We also talk about a recent article Rosaria wrote in which she publicly repented for engaging in "pronoun hospitality," the idea that affirming someone's chosen identity is a good way to gain someone's trust before sharing the Gospel with him. Rosaria explains why this isn't correct and offers a fresh perspective on why it's actually sinful for Christians to be supportive of "tolerant" or "inclusive" policies around marriage. We end with Rosaria's thoughts on how to stay connected with friends and family who do things like use preferred pronouns, without affirming something that isn't true; her advice to Christians who are struggling with believing they are gay or transgender; and

Ep 795 | Why Children Don't Belong to the 'Village'
26/04/2023 Duration: 58minToday we're talking about President Biden's re-election campaign launch and why his decision to run again makes no sense not only because his policies have been disastrous all around, but because he and Kamala Harris can't seem to even string together coherent sentences. We discuss how the average Democrat voter may buy into his message of being "moderate" despite his severe failures. Then, we take a look at his recent comments that "the nation's children are all our children." We reject this horrifying, Marxist ideology that aims to break down the family. We also look at a strange new trend of companies offering opt-outs for Mother's Day-themed emails and explain one new theory about why Tucker Carlson may have been forced to leave Fox. --- Timecodes: (01:04) Tribute to Joe Biden (02:20) Biden's campaign video (24:48) "The nation's children are all our children" (43:58) Mother's Day apologists (51:20) Tucker Carlson / Fox theory --- Today's Sponsors: A'Del — go to adelnaturalcosmetics.com and enter pro

Ep 794 | Can Fox Survive Without Tucker?
25/04/2023 Duration: 01h05minToday we're looking at big news in the conservative media world – Tucker Carlson's shocking and sudden departure from Fox News yesterday. It appears he fully intended to do a show on Monday, which makes this departure all the more bizarre. While we don't know exactly what happened on the inside, many who have had cable news spots before are speculating. But what does this really mean for Fox News, and who could the company possibly replace Tucker Carlson with? We look at AOC's call to silence Tucker and subsequent celebration of his departure from Fox. And the women at "The View" had some extra cringe-worthy things to say as well. Ultimately, Carlson is leaving behind shoes so big we're just not sure Fox can find someone to fill them. We look at his legacy of speaking truth and being a trailblazer in media and share some stories that reveal the kind of person he really is. --- Timecodes: (00:46) Celebrity airplane encounter (09:10) Tucker Carlson & Fox (27:25) AOC calls for Tucker's silencing (30:46) AOC c

Ep 793 | An Atheist & a Christian Define Christian Nationalism | Guest: James Lindsay
24/04/2023 Duration: 01h06minToday we're joined again by our friend James Lindsay, founder of New Discourses, to discuss Christian nationalism. We first look at how prominent Christian figures define Christian nationalism and how it's easy for conservative Christians to accept a definition of Christian nationalism that can result in unwarranted control over all Christians. Where is the line between morality shaped by a biblical worldview and Christian nationalism, and who decides which worldview shapes policy? We debate a bit where right and wrong and the basis of law come from, then discuss James' quote-tweet of Allie's Nashville shooting take and why he doesn't disagree with her, he's just weary of the Left's trap to fragment the population. We share the truth behind the trans movement and the false omniscience necessary for that worldview. --- Timecodes: (01:05) Definitions & traps of Christian nationalism (24:13) Morality vs. Christian nationalism (37:04) Reformers (39:20) James quote tweets Allie about Nashville shooting (49:55)

Ep 792 | What's to Blame for the Chicago 'Teen Takeover'? | Guest: Heather Mac Donald
20/04/2023 Duration: 50minToday we're joined by Heather Mac Donald, author of “When Race Trumps Merit: How the Pursuit of Equity Sacrifices Excellence, Destroys Beauty, and Threatens Lives." First, we're covering the Chicago "Teen Takeover," which saw hundreds of teens in the streets of Chicago causing chaos, smashing car windows, firing guns, and attacking bystanders. Chicago's mayor-elect argues for defunding the police and said we shouldn't demonize these young people. We explain why this leads to demonizing cops instead and preventing them from keeping order in these cities. We talk about how it is social breakdown that leads young people to feel no hesitation about going out and shooting people and why the lack of parental control is the biggest problem. We compare two nearly identical stories of young people shot outside strangers' homes and the media response. One victim was white and one is black, but race is only brought up when it comes to the black victim. We explain why racial double standards are lethal and why, while thi

Ep 791 | The U.N.’s Push to Decriminalize Child Rape | Guest: James Lindsay
19/04/2023 Duration: 49minToday we're joined by our friend James Lindsay to discuss a few hot-button topics in the news. First we talk about Dylan Mulvaney's Budweiser sponsorship and its fallout. James explains why corporations are so obsessed with "inclusion" and what's on the line for them if they don't comply with ESG overlords. Then, we look at the United Nations' new report that calls for the decriminalization of all sexual activity (including pedophilia). Of course, this makes complete sense when you look at the consistent and ever-growing grooming culture among the Left. We talk about why the Left always seems to default to this and how the Right should respond. We also cover a Washington bill that would allow the state to provide sanctuary for children whose parents don't consent to transgender "treatments" or abortions. --- Timecodes: (02:33) Dylan Mulvaney Bud Light sponsorship & ESG (28:04) U.N. calls for decriminalization of all drug use and sexual activity (45:30) Washington bill to allow medical transgender intervent

Ep 790 | The Rise of 'Christian' Witchcraft | Guest: Hilary Kennedy
18/04/2023 Duration: 45minToday we're joined by BlazeTV host of "4 Minute Buzz" Hilary Kennedy to discuss all kinds of weird occult products and shows popping up specifically for young people. First, a "Christian" ouija board for sale on Amazon promises to connect people with God. Psalm-themed tarot cards, marketed as "affirmation cards," are also deceptively marketed to Christians, and a ouija board marketed specifically to little girls features a pink kitten-themed aesthetic. This further shows that the glamorization and “normalizing” of the occult is becoming more and more prevalent at a pace we haven’t seen in recent decades. We also discuss Disney's new German show "Pauline," about an 18-year-old getting pregnant by and falling in love with Satan, and why modern culture seems to keep coming back to this narrative in different formats. Then, we share some good news from CNN of all places: Abortion numbers have greatly decreased in post-Roe America! --- Timecodes: (00:51) Interview with Hilary begins (02:05) "Christian" ouija bo

Ep 789 | Did Anime Turn MrBeast’s Sidekick 'Trans'?
17/04/2023 Duration: 01h05minToday we're talking about Chris Tyson of the incredibly popular MrBeast YouTube channel, who announced his transition recently. This has prompted an investigation into his past, which includes what appears to be an obsession with anime, particularly anime with depictions of sexualized young girls. Chris appeared to be a normal, masculine husband and father with a Christian background. So, what happened, why does it matter, and what should we take away from all this? We take a look at other cases of anime influencing gender dysphoria. Then, a rainbow over the Covenant School presents a poignant reminder of God’s faithfulness after the Nashville atrocity. --- Timecodes: (02:08) Chris Tyson transition summary (17:45) MrBeast's response (19:58) Chris' history & family (31:56) Anime / "loli" & ties to gender ideology (01:01:56) Covenant rainbow --- Today's Sponsors: Carly Jean Los Angeles — use promo code 'ALLIEBASICS' to save 25% off your first order at CarlyJeanLosAngeles.com! Ep 788 | The 'Sextortion' Scheme that Killed His Son | Guest: Brian Montgomery
13/04/2023 Duration: 50minToday we're joined by Brian Montgomery, a father from Mississippi who lost his 16-year-old son Walker to suicide last December after Walker was the victim of an online "sextortion" scam. "Sextortion" is a form of blackmail where someone threatens to share a nude or sexually explicit picture or video of the victim unless the predator’s demands are met, and often teenage boys are the targets. While this is obviously the most horrifying thing that can happen to one's child, Brian walks us through how he and his wife found their son the next morning and how they uncovered what actually happened to him. We discuss why all parents need to be aware of evil scams like this one, even if their kids don't show problematic behavior, and Brian explains why he finds it important to share Walker's story. We also talk about how the Montgomerys have processed what happened and clung to their faith. --- Timecodes: (00:59) Interview with Brian begins / about his family (04:38) No warnings (07:45) Finding Walker (14:54) Findi

Ep 787 | The 'Tennessee Three' Aren't Heroes
12/04/2023 Duration: 42minToday we're talking about the Tennessee Three, three Tennessee state legislators who are being hailed as heroes for their anti-gun advocacy in the wake of the Nashville atrocity. Gloria Johnson, Justin Pearson, and Justin Jones, now collectively the "Tennessee Three," led disruptive protests from the floor of the House chamber, halting proceedings. They each faced votes of expulsion, and only two of them were ultimately removed from the House, causing Republicans in the house to be labeled racists. We break down some of Pearson and Jones' terrible "Bible" preaching in the name of social justice and look at what this all means from both a political and theological perspective. --- Timecodes: (00:42) Intro (02:30) Tennessee Three: what happened (06:43) White House response (11:12) Justin Pearson’s cadence change (14:50) Biblical heroes (19:54) Christian affirmation of Tennessee Three (24:35) Bad motivations & GOP backlash (33:32) Gun legislation --- Today's Sponsors: A'Del — go to adelnaturalcosmetics.com

Ep 786 | Mike Todd’s Blasphemous Easter Service
11/04/2023 Duration: 56minToday we're talking about Riley Gaines' recent run-in with trans activists at San Francisco State University. Gaines, an athlete who famously competed against Lia Thomas, gave a speech on fairness in sports, but what started as a peaceful event turned violent when a trans protester punched her in the face. She was then chased down by a screaming mob who trapped her in a room for hours and claimed she couldn't leave until they were given money. We discuss why violent events like this tend to stem from trans hatred of women and how there probably won't be consequences (but why it's good that she's pursuing consequences anyway). The good news is that normal people are starting to realize how ridiculous it all is. Another example of men skipping the line is a British man who identifies as a woman who has gained accolades for his mediocre ballet, being accepted to a prestigious dance academy. Meanwhile Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird, who are both successful female athletes, are fighting for men to compete against wome

Ep 785 | Abortion Pill Ban? & NPR’s Accidentally Pro-Life Story
10/04/2023 Duration: 59minToday we're talking about a few stories related to abortion. First, NPR published a story about a Texas mom who couldn’t abort her baby (who was diagnosed with a fatal disorder) due to Texas’ abortion law, hoping to provoke sympathy for women who have to bring their pregnancies to term. Now the mother has claimed she cannot afford a funeral for the baby, who passed shortly after her birth. NPR appears to argue that it would have been better for the baby to have been dismembered than to be born and need a funeral. We explain why this ignores the absolute trauma of abortion, as well as the beautiful moment this baby got to see the face of her mother before she died. Then, U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk issued a ruling which could stop the prescribing and distribution of mifepristone, one of two drugs used to perform abortions via pill, due to the FDA's flawed approval process. The opinion now waits for appeals from the Biden administration, but we discuss why this is a great win and could mean huge diffi

Ep 784 | Did the Resurrection Really Happen? | Guest: Jeremiah Johnston
06/04/2023 Duration: 51minToday we're joined by Dr. Jeremiah Johnston, president of the Christian Thinkers Society, pastor of apologetics and cultural engagement at Prestonwood Baptist Church, and author of "Body of Proof: The 7 Best Reasons to Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus—and Why it Matters Today," to discuss Jesus' resurrection and apologetics as a whole. We touch both on how to raise Christian thinkers and how to become Christian thinkers ourselves, citing how Jesus asks us to love God with our hearts and minds. We discuss the legacy of the Christian faith and the many wonderful things Christian thinking has brought to societies. Then we look specifically at the resurrection and why it's so fundamental to not just our beliefs as Christians but to the world overall. We cover some of the facts that prove it really happened and answer the question of why it matters for us now. --- Timecodes: (01:11) Interview with Jeremiah begins (02:49) Raising Christian thinkers (06:40) How to start being a Christian thinker (11:40) Apolo

Ep 783 | Is Trump Headed to Prison or the Presidency? | Guest: Steve Deace
05/04/2023 Duration: 42minToday we're joined by one of your favorite guests, BlazeTV's own Steve Deace, host of the "Steve Deace Show," to discuss Trump's arrest and Steve's new movie, "Nefarious." Yesterday Trump pled not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records brought upon him by a Manhattan grand jury. We talk about how this is just an escalation of what has been going on the past few years and how this isn't a legal proceeding – it's a political one. We look at this from a theological approach and then discuss why we need to see a political power correction by Republicans, spiritual revival, and a generational changeover. Then, we talk about Steve's new movie, "Nefarious," which aims to portray the truth about the demonic world and give an opportunity for you to talk to your friends about Jesus. --- Timecodes: (00:48) Trump arrest (06:06) What conservatives care about (10:12) Theological approach (14:13) Trump's motives & what will happen (23:23) DeSantis, Trump & the "hero cult" (28:48) Political will & spiri

Ep 782 | 'Pronoun Hospitality' Is Sin: Rosaria Butterfield’s Confession
04/04/2023 Duration: 44minToday we're looking at Uganda's "Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2023" and the response from the U.S. Two weeks ago Uganda passed legislation that would rather severely criminalize homosexuality. We first look at a Washington Post opinion piece that argues that much of Africa is "marching back on LGBT rights" and reveals quite a bit about how leftists see their own morality in comparison to the rest of the world. The Ugandan bill is waiting to be signed by Uganda's president, but what was the United States' response? Threatening to withdraw aid. We discuss the Left's insistence on imposing its ideas of what equality should look like, when it's clear that Africa doesn't care at all what leftists think. Then, Rosaria Butterfield posted an article yesterday in which she repents for her previous use of preferred pronouns and calling other Christians to do the same. We explain why her view is exactly right and why Christians who disagree are missing the big picture and risking their witness. --- Timecodes: (00:49) Intr

Ep 781 | NHL Christians Stand Up, Trump Indictment, Trans Vengeance
03/04/2023 Duration: 01h09minToday we're talking about Trump's indictment and the endless rumors about what it means for both the upcoming presidential election and politics in general. While many speculate that his indictment means he's secured the Republican nomination, we argue that this event ultimately won't change the minds of Republicans who are sick of him. Then we talk about the Tr*ns Day of Visibility (which many activists deemed "Day of Vengeance"), which took place on Friday. Rallies across the country showed the true colors of the people arguing for "visibility," and one counter-protester, Billboard Chris, was assaulted. We discuss the NHL questioning its own "Pride Night" event after backlash and give an encouragement for those who are finding it hard to find good news of late. Ep 780 | No. I Won’t Let Them Blame Christians for Nashville
30/03/2023 Duration: 01h14minToday we're looking back at the aftermath of the Nashville tragedy and some of the awful rhetoric being promulgated by the media. First, we look at the Left's refusal to identify this atrocity as an anti-Christian attack when, if the victims were in a protected class, they would immediately identify the motive. We look at Audrey Hale's history of "not being accepted" by her parents and why some are seeing this as a reason for her inexcusable behavior. Then we discuss how after three 9-year-olds were murdered, the focus seems to be on the fact that alphabet people are scared. We look at where the violence is actually coming from and some ridiculous tweet reactions to the event, as well as yet another embarrassing moment from Biden. --- Timecodes: (02:35) Intro / cultural Christianity dissipating (06:28) Update on shooting & motive (19:33) People feel targeted (39:49) Where is the violence actually coming from?
