Software being developed at the University of Southern Queensland aims to solve this problem by detecting genuine distress when people call Triple Zero. Gabrielle O'Brien tries Mugwort, considered the ‘universal herb for protection and prophecy’ throughout the ancient world. Dedicated to paganism gods such as Artemis, Mugwort was used for pain and healing, psychic powers and lucid dreaming. In ancient China and Japan, Mugwort was hung in open doorways to rid spirits of disease. The ancient Europeans did the same to ward off evil spirits. In more modern herbalism, Mugwort is used to stimulate and ease menstruation, assist digestion and liver function, expel parasites and relax the nervous system to help with things such as anxiety and stress- But it still commonly used to help the mind relax and increase psychic power to induce colourful and vivid dreams to bring on lucid dreaming and astral projection. A Brisbane refugee protest is planned for this weekend. It's the latest in a series of protests - around the country and around the world - during the COVID 19 pandemic. Gabrielle O'Brien hit the streets of Springfield to ask whether it's okay to protest en masse when we're all meant to be social distancing?

Last night saw another fatal blow to the local media industry. Network 10 slashed a number of jobs across the network. Closer to home, the network has also decided to axe the nightly Brisbane news bulletin - instead opting to provide networked news from Sydney. With this coming not long after News Corporation ceasing printing a number of regional publications - including Ipswich’s very own Queensland Times - is this the end of local journalism? Our next guest has worked with a number of television networks over the years, and currently works with Channel 7 as a studio director. USQ Television Lecturer Bruce Wuth joins us now.

Just over two weeks ago, on July 26th, two women with COVID-19 dined at local restaurant Peak Thai, which led to its temporary shutdown and a wave of fear throughout Springfield. Thankfully there was no outbreak, and the restaurant’s team all tested negative. Today we’re talking to Tracey O’Brien from Peak Thai, which reopened last night!

This week on COVID International, we head somewhere closer to home, this place is currently sitting around 50,000 COVID Cases and over 1,000 deaths. It is located between the Korean Peninsula and the Pacific Ocean. We are obviously talking about Japan. We are going to talk to a resident of the Greater Tokyo area who has lived in Japan for 10 years.
