In a letter to his friend Philemon, Paul mentioned that he was encouraged by the refreshment Philemon offered his church family. His love for his community and his faith in Jesus was significant. In our day in age, could the same be said of us? If not, wouldn’t it be worth fighting for?

In moments of hopelessness, it doesn’t always seem practical to trust Jesus. But who determines when something is truly hopeless? What if Jesus is the hope you needed all along?

Let’s face it: the Western world is ill-equipped when it comes to grieving. How do we do it well? How do we trust God in the process? Jesus models well at the tomb of Lazarus.

The now and not yet. The moments between your current reality and a better one. How do we trust Jesus in the tension? Know that you can, and that he’s trustworthy.

In our waiting, is God actually doing something? Can we trust that he's at work?

Where culture says “always be closing,” Jesus says “play the long game.” To be faithful in the Kingdom of God looks like long obedience in the same direction. This means the things that will hold long term, even eternal value, require faithfulness that isn’t produced overnight. How is God calling you to be faithful in the season ahead?

It’s difficult to hear God’s voice when we come to him with our own ideals. We become entitled, failing to realize we’re blinded by our attitudes of opposition. Fortunately, Jesus keeps on speaking and keeps on pursuing. It’s time to get our hearts in line with his.

How do you know what you’re investing your life into is secure? Is it possible to find security in our faith? Jesus wants to provide that kind of assurance to the sheep in his care.

Hear him. Know him. Follow him. Who? Your Good Shepherd.

As we look to further live out what it means to be the Church and reach the city, we revisit our values, discuss intentional next steps, and set our sights on the season ahead.

Jesus pursues us before, during, and after we realize he is. How should we respond? We’ve got options, but some are more appropriate than others.

Even when Jesus does a transformative work in our lives, we can still be met with opposition. Even so, it’s possible to walk in confidence and allow God’s love to shine through us.

Jesus heals a man born blind and reveals that every broken story can be a redemption story.

Jesus challenges the faith of his audience by giving evidence of what true, saving faith looks like.

Everyone is looking for truth, and everyone wants to be free. When you realize Jesus is the answer to both desires, you can’t help but follow his lead.

Jesus pulls no punches when addressing those who do not yet believe in him. He calls us to look to the cross and believe in the one we see.

Jesus never stopped short of making norm-shattering claims about His identity. Declaring Himself to be the Light of the World was certainly no exception. The implications of our response to this statement might just change the way we live.

Jesus doesn't make good human behavior a prerequisite for His love. Rather, He loves us first and compels us to change in response, walking into the fullness of the life He has to offer.

Anyone can have an opinion about Jesus but at some point, you have to decide whether or not you're standing with him.

If we’re going to be a church that reaches our city, we are going to need more than human ingenuity. We are going to need the Holy Spirit.
