In Matthew 15:21-31, the faith of a desperate Canaanite woman reveals that Jesus meets us in unexpected places, calls us to trust Him over people, and honors a posture of humility and persistence. As we continue in the gospel of Matthew, Pastor Sean explores the tension between religion and relationship, focusing on Jesus’ confrontation with the Pharisees in Matthew 15:1-20. He emphasizes that while religious traditions can be helpful, they must not overshadow the importance of a genuine, heart-centered relationship with God, as Jesus teaches that it is not external actions but the condition of the heart that matters.

Continuing through the gospel of Matthew in our Heaven Meets Earth series we come to the passage of Jesus and Peter walking on water. Youth Director Jon DeYonker, reflects on the tension Peter experienced being lost somewhere between both faith and fear. In this sermon Jon challenges and encourages believers to see past both and focusing on Christ alone, by rendering what faith we do have to him, to seek first his kingdom, and to worship Jesus, because it is in Jesus alone that heaven meets earth.

Pastor Sean kicks off our new series exploring the contrast between two types of passion: one that leads to destruction and another that leads to compassion and kingdom-building. Using the stories of Herod's sinful decisions and Jesus' miraculous feeding of the 5,000, he highlights how Herod's selfish passions lead to death, while Jesus' divine compassion brings life and healing. we are called to develop a "Heaven Meets Earth" mindset, where we tap into heavenly resources, rely on the Holy Spirit, and bring God's kingdom into every aspect of our lives.

In this Advent sermon, Jon DeYonker encourages us to lift our eyes above the cultures vision for Christmas to a ‘A Higher Joy’ found in the arrival of Jesus. He contrasts the fleeting happiness of material possessions and perfect moments with the "good news of great joy for all people", as announced at Christ's birth. With our joy set on Christ and His salvation we can be a people who live marked by joy even amidst the struggles and pains of life.

True peace is not obtained simply in the absence of conflict. Pastor Sean continues our advent series as we discover what Isaiahs prophetic words meant in chapter 9 verse 6 calling Jesus the "Prince of Peace"In this we explore three types of peace—upward (with God), inward (within ourselves), and outward (with others)—this message encourages us to actively pursue peace during the Advent season through prayer, reflection, and reconciliation.

Pastor Sean kicks off a four-week Advent series, focusing on the theme of hope as we prepare for the celebration of Christ's birth and anticipate His return. Drawing from Psalm 130, Sean explores how biblical hope isn't just wishful thinking but a deep, anchored trust in God's faithfulness, even in the darkest times. In this, we are challenged to reflect on where we place our hope, reminding us that true hope lies in Jesus—our savior and the promise of an eternal future.

Pastor Sean explored the altar as a symbol of sacrifice, worship, and trust in God. Through Genesis 22:1–19, we saw Abraham’s radical obedience in being willing to sacrifice Isaac, trusting in God’s provision. When we follow Him it will cost us something, but it’s an act of worship that deepens our faith and transforms us.
