This inspired her to start a non-profit organization that aims to teach teens and their families like skills such as conflict resolution, social and emotional learning, and most importantly, financial literacy. Her crusade is to rebuild urban communicites through economic empowerment. Her story has gained international attention because Ieshia is the single mother of 5 children: David-14, Davien-12, Khassidy-11, Kaleb-8 and E'mani-5. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas and currently resides in Houston. While raising 5 children, she received an undergraduate degree at the University of Houston and now, she has completed the requirements to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law on May 11, 2018. For so many reasons, including the fact that I am a lawyer, a judge and a mom myself, I’m so excited about this show and I know that you will be as moved and inspired by her incredible story as I have been.
