DDH - DDH - Fair is Foul and Foul Is Fair...
09/05/2023 Duration: 36minLook, I love New York City. I’ve only been there a few times, and usually I didn’t have any time to look around much. But I have always harbored a secret desire to live there, at least visit for an extended stay. To really experience New York City. I have a friend who lives there, and I told him several times that I expect him to keep busy, because I live my own NYC life vicariously through him. That said, New York is a… well… it’s a different kind of place. for all it’s bluster and bravado about being so sophisticated and upper crust, it has long had a reputation for being a bit crazy and when it gets down to it, a little bit violent. Once upon a time, NYC was the leader in American dislike for the British. What you gotta understand is that Great Britain and the US were almost thinking about going to war against each other… again. The whole “Fifty-four Forty or Fight” thing. This time though, it wasn’t the national governments that stopped it. Still, it the common opinion in America to dislike all things

WTF - King Chuck's Sexy Sausage Fingers
07/05/2023 Duration: 55minYes, King Chuck III got hisself coronated yesterday at three in the morning. we did not get up to watch. That said, we still have questions. A man is dead after his behavior on the NYC Subway caused problems. The bigger question is whether or not this was truly just “mental illness” or if it was learned behavior? King Chuck has “giant sausage fingers.” And now, for just $63, you can suck on them. All that and more this week on What The Frock?

What a Drag!
05/05/2023The US Navy announced this week that it had… appointed?… a “digital ambassador” to help with lagging recruiting. The controversy comes in the fact that this particular digital ambassador was apparently appointed as such because he is a drag queen. furthermore, it seems to be actually aimed at recruiting other drag queens into the Navy. Naturally, the interwebs and the politicians have exploded into anger and disgust. Oddly enough, I am not all that surprised by it, because… and this is something that you don’t know… there have always been drag queens in the Navy…

DDH - ¡Cinco de Mayo!
02/05/2023 Duration: 35minFor what seems to be basically an American drinking festival, Cinco de Mayo has become “a lightening rod for controversy*.” A few years ago in California, white students began wearing American Flag t-shirts to school on the day. Of course, this was met with outrage, because… that’s what high school students have learned is the “proper” response to a perceived insult. When t-shirts aren’t the issue, so-called “cultural appropriation” becomes the rally cry. How dare Americans celebrate a Mexican holiday? Drinking cerveza and eating burritos! Outrage!!!! Of course, the bigger problem is that none of these reactions are based on even a cursory understanding of history. If it were, we could all united together and do what Norte Americanos have done since the mid 1600’s – Blame the French! *My all time favorite phrase used every week by the Modesto Bee writers to describe to various happenings around the County

WTF - What Is Wrong At Harvard
30/04/2023 Duration: 01h05minA Law professor at Harvard – the smartest school in America – says that there is just too much free speech out there, especially on the interwebs. And he isn’t even close to being the dumbest professor at Harvard – the smartest school in America. Speaking of dumb, what if the Bud Lite execs , who have said that they had no clue what was going on, actually didn’t know what was going on? was firing Tucker Carlson a dumb move or a master stroke of manipulation? People are dumb enough to want to pretend to be disabled, and some doctors are dumb enough to go along. In Bremerton this morning, the revolution came and went on a Ferry boat. And it’s Coronation week! Congrats to King Chuck III, who, in a time of international war and brouhaha, has decided to signal his commitment to peace and prosperity by having a short coronation ceremony and wear a military uniform. All that and more (Dave buys a book on camping) this week on What The Frock?

Cultural Lysenkoism
19/04/2023 Duration: 23minThe whole concept of forced, or compelled assimilation is one that is repetitive through history. Whether you’re talking about the Jews and the attempts to force them to convert, the Conquistadors forcing their beliefs onto the Mesoamericans, or even the attempts by the US Government to force “civilization” onto the Native American, it’s a constant theme. While the macro versions of these attempts are pretty obvious, the truth is that there is a great deal of micro-compelled assimilation. It is far more impactful on our every day lives. What do I mean…?

DDH - Operation Vengeance
18/04/2023 Duration: 34minAdmiral Irosuku Yamamoto, the leader of the Imperial Japanese Navy, was reputed to have once said that he personally would dictate the peace terms to the United States in the Oval Office. As the mastermind behind the the attack on Pearl Harbor, Yamamoto was seen as the evil genius behind the successes of the Japanese Navy up through the end of the Guadalcanal Campaign in early 1943. Now, in a desperate attempt to shore up Japanese morale after the defeat on Guadalcanal, Yamamoto elected to make a tour of the front lines around Bougainville Island. What he hadn’t figured out, even after the shattered sword of the the Battle of Midway, was that the United States had long ago cracked the Japanese codes they used to communicate. The US Military knew that the Admiral was coming to Bougainville. At just after 0725 on the morning of April 18, 1943, eighteen of the 339th Squadron of US Army Air Corps P-38 Lightning’s began to lift off from Guadalcanal, carrying extra fuel tanks. Two planes immediately turned back.

WTF - And We're Back
16/04/2023 Duration: 52minIt’s been a month of Sundays, but at long last, Rabbi Dave is back! Together with the Good Friar Rod, we’ll take a look at the leak of classified documents and why it is that pretty much everybody seems to think that this was a good thing. Plus the boys will solicit unqualified medical advice from listeners. Twenty-one year old junior birdmen don’t seem all that smart. Did Governor Jay Inslee manage to personally cause a Washington State Ferry to crash?

Stories That I Am NOT Buying Into
14/04/2023 Duration: 18minI’m not sure if my BS detection Meter is working overtime or if things have just become so unbelievable that even the most cock-eyed optimist has trouble swallowing the news being fed to us. Let us consider just a couple of stories being reported this week…

Dem Bones
13/04/2023 Duration: 19minIt’s been a long few weeks. And we’re not even really close to being back to normal yet. That said, I’ve spent a lot of time listening to others and thinking about things. I have so often said that the Study of Constitutional Principles is very similar to the study of Torah. As we celebrate Passover this past week, there was yet another reminder of this to me. This time in a dry valley, full of dry bones…

DDH - Do You Mind, Son? We're Trying to Think
11/04/2023 Duration: 34minToday, April 11, is the anniversary of the founding of the US Navy’s Submarine Fleet! for one hundred and twenty-three years, US Navy Submariners have carried on the traditions and training of the worlds finest underwater warriors. When the Battleships were stuck in the mud of Pearl Harbor, the Submarines carried the attack to the Empire of Japan. when Missiles piled up on Cuba, US Submarines made it clear to the Soviets, “You Shall not pass!” It’s not well known, but the first shots taken at Saddam – both times – were launched from US Navy Submarines. For all the glory and all the accomplishments, there is still, great pain. Yesterday, April 10, 1963, The countries newest and most technologically advance nuclear submarine, vanished will all hands off the coast of New England. One hundred and twenty nine souls went to the depths that day, and now, sixty years later, we still do not know what actually happened. Believe me, there are theories galore. But the only thing we know for absolute 100% certainty,

I Don't Remember A Thing
20/03/2023 Duration: 02minI can talk, but it hurts. My good friend, the MILSURPWRITER, half jokingly suggested that I use a voice box, ala Stephen Hawking. All I could find on short notice was a female voice, but you get the idea… So here is a very brief recounting of something of which I have absolutely no memory. Which, by the by, makes it the best dental appointment I’ve ever had, despite the pain, bleeding and inability to eat anything except applesauce and oatmeal…

Stalkers, Wings and Whales
15/03/2023 Duration: 28minWithout getting into the details, there was one point in my media career (so far), that a person took it upon themselves to make an attempt to “find me” in the “real world.” That person believed that they could get me to do something for them and control my life and behaviors in a manner that they, in a deranged mind, was who I am. It was nerve-wracking for a few days, and nort something that I would ever like to deal with again. Two incidents here in Washington State last week have reminded me of those days. In the first, a Bremerton man has pled guilty to stalking a Washington State Representative over the course of three years. That woman, now wants to buy a gun to protect herself. But thanks tot he legislatures restrictions, she cannot. In the second incident, a podcaster and her husband were murdered by a stalker who believed that the woman was required to have some sort of romantic relationship with him. He won’t be hurting anyone else, but the idea that he tracked her down from halfway across the cou

DDH - The Ides of History
14/03/2023 Duration: 35minIn 44bce, the world was stunned on the Ides of March as a group of Roman Senators mercilessly attacked and murdered the sitting roman Dictator, Julius Cæsar. Over the next two thousand years, the story achieved legendary status in literature, theater and film. We watch as Elizabeth Taylor weeps over his death. Shakespeare brings us Marc Anthony’s rhetorical masterpiece, “Friends! Romans, Country men! Lend me your ears!” Even HBO gets into the act, with a sympathetic portrayal of Cæsar that received applause and praise worthy of Marc Anthony. For the men who founded a new country in 1776, history was different than Hollywood and Shakespeare. They had been raised on the writings of Cato, steeped in the concepts of liberty and freedom. To a man, they saw Cæsar as he actually was, as Brutus and Cassius saw him – a usurper of tradition and, more importantly, the absolute law of the Republic of Rome. The fact that Cæsar was beloved, even by his opponents, did not undo the fact that he was trying to put the crown

"So-Called Journalists"
13/03/2023 Duration: 33minI’ve never shied away from the fact that my mind works… differently. So last week three things happened concurrently. First, some politicians here in Washington State have decided that ONLY “credentialed journalists” will be admitted to their press conferences. At almost the same time, Bill Mick was talking about the fact that he does not have the time to be an investigator for the stories discussed on the show. And at almost the same moment as the two occurrences above, a Congresswoman informed the entire world that she does not have any regard for what she called “so-called journalists.” Now… my mind began to percolate on these happenings and a thought began to coalesce… what if these ideas are related and could be bound together in a singular unified idea? In all honesty, the idea is not yet complete, but I am running out of time to get it down on paper… or tape… so you get to come along with me as I boil the water and begin to bubble this down into a coherent idea…

WTF: Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?
12/03/2023 Duration: 01h45sIt’s the morning of the Daylight Savings Time “Spring forward” time change. There is always a lot of confusion, a lot of arguments and… a lot of resentment. Privacy concerns dominate the news, with the FBI admitting (finally) that it has continued to purchase data from cell phone providers. At the same time, a nonprofit Catholic group has also purchased VERY specific data from a specific App in order to out and to dox a very specific group that it does not like. Do you grow or show? The Washington State Legislature weighs in and makes you say, WTF?

Ben's Blue Dot
08/03/2023 Duration: 22minBack before Meta deleted my original account, I had a picture of Ben standing on the sink in the bathroom, holding his hair back and intently looking in the mirror at his forehead. He was searching for the Blue Dot, which I had informed him that only Dads could see, which shows up on his forehead whenever he tells me a lie. A listeners this week texted the show and asked me what do we do when a politician continues to lie to us? Like the old joke, “How do you tell when a politician is lying to you?” Ben had not yet learned that the old Seinfeld axiom is true. You have to understand that politicians do NOT lie to you. That is the reason why the Blue Dot never shows up on their foreheads…

DDH - AZORIAN
07/03/2023 Duration: 45minSome Technical Notes from today’s episode: (1) Dave has had zero sleep. He was up all night for a family activity. (2) The WMMB computer failed, necessitating the show be done by telephone rather than the normal method via computer. (3) Bill and Dave decided to leave their off air discussions on the podcast version. This is unusual but the conversations were germane to the subject (which is unusual) and might be of benefit to the listener. On the night of March7/8, 1968, a loud and very unexpected sound reverberated through Central part of the Pacific Ocean. Officially, the sound originated 1500 nautical miles northwest of Oahu, exactly on the 180th Meridian (the International Date Line). Depending on who you choose to believe, the United States intelligence community knew almost instantly what the sound was. And within a few days, a major operation was launched centered around the USS Halibut SSN-587, the most technologically advanced spy submarine in the world, which was sent look at the source of the sou

You Either Support and Defend Free Speech, Or You Don't
06/03/2023 Duration: 22minIn 1798, less than a full decade after the ratification of the Constitution and just eight years after the Bill of Rights, the President of the United States, signed into law the Sedition Act of 1798. It was, simply put, one of the most egregious and appalling laws ever passed by the Congress of the United States, signed by a President AND upheld by the Supreme Court. It was proof of almost everything that the anti-Federalists had predicted and it nearly severed the nation. It was born from mass hysteria and bruised ego. You might hope that cooler heads prevailed and the law was repealed. It wasn’t. Parts of the original law are still on our books today. It has been used to silence dissent over and over again. And lest you think that there is no way that any politicians today would dare do the same thing again, we bring you news from Flori-duh. Where a GOP State Senator has proposed a bill that, once again, seeks to abridge the freedom of speech and of the press. Why? Because he doesn’t like “gray areas…”
