You Watched It Wrong

We kick off our Wacky Races miniseries with the seminal, star-studded, stunt-stuffed spectacular that started it all, Stanley Kramer's comedy epic It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. It's a race to see if the movie or the podcast contains more actual jokes!

Wade and Siggy are embarking on a new, epic journey through the subgenre of wacky race movies, and they hope you'll come along for the ride. We'll go from It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, through various incarnations of The Cannonball Run, and all the way to Rat Race, hitting some more obscure entries in between. It's gonna be a fun year if the wheels don't fall off first!

Wade and Siggy wax cinemasophical about two movies co-written by Sjón: 2021's Lamb and 2022's The Northman. They also mourn Wade’s never-coming very special episode on the Death Wish movies, discuss Siggy’s theories on Dirty Harry, Master of the Universe’s love of hyphens, how watching Body Double far too young affects people, their desire to see "Bob Egger’s Northman Babies" come to fruition and a recounting of a classic never-filmed episode of Wade & Siggy's never-filmed film series.  All that in HALF our usual run time!!!

Wade and Siggy were so excited to talk about the latest Sam Raimi/MCU collab/collision that they couldn't wait to get to their respective studios, so eavesdrop on this phone call (phone call!) where they discuss straining to look smart, alternate movie titles, and where this ranks in the Cloaky filmography.

Siggy & Wade attempt a new format to discuss the year in film that was 2021... and they're never doing it this way again! So enjoy it now, as it's the upside-down plane/misprinted stamp of year-end review shows!  

Snubbed by The Oscars, but not by You Watched It Wrong! Wade and Siggy dig into the imagery and symbolism of David Lowry's The Green Knight while demonstrating just how many ways you can pronounce Gawain. Will they be able to keep their heads while disagreeing over the ending? The grass will fill your footsteps, let us fill your ears! (And stay tuned for a heaping helping of Ghost pie!)

This episode is as lean and mean as Hutch Mansell with his shirt off, but we still manage to pack in some fun... with the return of Track Marks! So put on your Andy Williams record and your sleepytime turtleneck sweater and take this ride with us, because this is your father's Oldsmobile.
