Nishi has shared her poetry over the years, but most recently has published a beautiful book of poems. • AP 421: 3 Tips to Better Navigate Relationships with Your Aging Parents || with Jody Moore

    22/08/2022 Duration: 44min

Relationships are complicated. Biggest, “duh” statement ever right? We all know that, but it never ceases to surprise me, my friends, and women all across this community how relationships hold both the purpose of life, and often its greatest challenge too. In particular, I've heard from many of you about your relationship with your parents as you both age. In today's episode, podcaster and author Jody Moore joins me to dive into why this happens and what to do about it. In the second half of the episode we switch things up with an eye-opening "Dear Jody," segment, in which she answers listener submissions on this very topic. Whether you're seeking more connection, unsure of how to set boundaries, or just need reassurance that this is indeed a tough thing to navigate, then this is the conversation for you. • AP 420: So, You HAVE To Wake Up Earlier This Fall . . .

    18/08/2022 Duration: 14min

I know it's not technically the new year, but sometimes the fall can feel that way. With school starting up again, the end of the year coming in to sight, the change in weather, or whatever it might be for you, the fall signifies change to many of us. Often times that change means we HAVE to wake up earlier. In today's episode I have 4 tips to help you start feeling successful under your new circumstances. I'm covering when to start, why you should consider the night before, how to use my sticky habit method, and where to focus your energy. A not-so-spoiler alert is that I do not encourage you to make any drastic changes, so there are no instructions here on how to go to bed 3 hours earlier, or clean your whole house before your family wakes up. These tips are actually simple, and meant to serve you in your circumstances. Let me know what works and good luck with the "new year!" Full Show Notes My upcoming FREE Class!! It's time to do habits differently. In this episode I walk through several examples, including common problematic habits I hear from this community like exercise routines and regular journaling. By letting go of the "shoulds," you can feel free to create supportive habits that align with your values. Your habits can even fit into your life the way it is, and enhance it in ways you choose. By explaining the 3 small shifts that make a big difference, I want to empower you to take back control of your habits. Full Show Notes My upcoming FREE Class!! • AP 418: How to Revisit Your Do Something List || Growth Spurt

    14/07/2022 Duration: 12min

If you've been here for a little while you know that my Do Something List is something that changed my life. I talk about how to create your list often, but today want to share how to revisit it and make any necessary changes. Because remember, your list serves your personal growth and is not meant to be a challenging list of unattainable goals. In this episode I'm sharing how my lists have evolved over six years and if I've ever "finished" a list. Then I physically go through my list, so you can do this along with me, and I ask myself certain questions to make sure that the list still best aligns with me. Through this process you can ensure that your Do Something List still supports your best self, as you and your seasons change. Full Show Notes My upcoming FREE Class!! • AP 417: How Everything Changed When I Learned to Accept my Limits

    11/07/2022 Duration: 35min

Today's topic was inspired by an early June morning when I wasn't feeling well, I woke up late, the kids were home from school for summer, and I missed my usual workout, so the day just started off on the wrong foot. I knew in that moment the difference between how the old me would've reacted and how I actually choose to react now. I say "choose" because I now own my limitations - in this case my motherhood season, my physical health, and the time of year. I accept the limits on my capabilities and release the resentment, anger, blame, and other negative emotions that used to incite a reaction from me. In this episode I dive into certain other seasons of my life, and how I've navigated the change from one to another in 3 major ways. At the root, I try to stay connected to my priorities, then allow my actions to reflect those even if it's in the smallest of ways. It's time to stop waiting on the sidelines of your life, to think about how you can support yourself, and not waiting for the support to come

  • AP 413: How Can I Intentionally Use My Precious Alone Time? || Coaching Call with Amy

    27/06/2022 Duration: 36min

Have you ever had some time to yourself, and been completely unable to decide what to do with it? You're not alone in this dilemma and there are a few ways to support yourself here, just like Amy learned to do in this month's coaching call. In this episode you'll meet Amy, a busy mom of 5, who is also in graduate school and beginning full time work in the fall. She has carved out an hour in her mornings before her children wake up, but struggles with how to use her time. We pretty quickly identify her priorities, and I challenge her to consider her fear of making trade-offs. By introducing flexibility to her priorities, Amy is able to create her own baseline routine that she knows will build, but also be there to support her when she just needs the bare minimum. • AP 412: How do you become passionate about family history? || with Melanie Gardner

    23/06/2022 Duration: 29min

Melanie is a Progressor, a community member just like you, who has a passion that I, admittedly, do not share. She is deeply knowledgeable about family history. With her competitive drive kicking in, and on somewhat of a challenge, she began to work on digitizing historical records. The connection, and the spark, that she felt from the names and information of these people is what keeps her going today. You do not have to be a professional genealogist to do this, Melanie maintains that she is nothing but just interested in learning and sharing the stories of her ancestors. Her message is that family history can work for you, there are so many little things that you can do that matter when it comes to connecting to your history. If this isn't something you had considered before, or is something you are intimidated to begin, consider the fulfillment you may find from piecing together your past. Full Show Notes NEW!! • AP 407: You Need to Have More Fun (+ HOW!) || with Catherine Price

    06/06/2022 Duration: 45min

If you had an hour totally to yourself, what would you do? Author Catherine Price explains in today's interview that when faced with that exact situation she found herself signing up for a guitar class. That choice spiraled into what she now knows as true fun. When was the last time that you had fun? Maybe you're wondering what fun even is. Catherine compiled her research into her book "The Power of Fun," which she shares about in this episode along with some powerful personal anecdotes. By taking care of ourselves in this way and giving ourselves the opportunity to let go and have fun, it makes us better at our responsibilities. If you are capable of having fun then you bring it to other people, and it’s a gift to give others that comfort, joy, and lightness. It's time to take having fun more seriously and see how rewarding that can be. Full Show Notes + Transcript NEW!!
