Jesus tells us to lean on Him for our strength. Too often our pride gets in the way of allowing us to live into His grace. As a Church Family, we all need to lean on one another—through the good times, and the bad—as that is what family is for.

His devotion and obedience to his father was consistent. He wanted to be rewarded for his behavior. He wanted what he believed he deserved. And he wanted disobedience and foolishness to be punished.

His son was as good as dead, and now he is alive again! A relationship that was once fractured has now been repaired and restored. This calls for an epic celebration!

He wants the inheritance, he wants the blessing and he wants his freedom. He wants everything his father has to offer, but doesn't want a relationship with his father.

He did not overthrow the Roman government. He did not take the throne of Israel. He did not purge the temple of corruption. Instead, Jesus was brutalized and crucified. At the moment of his death, it seemed like all hope was lost. But hope was about to be resurrected.

Throughout their history, God had required blood sacrifices from the Israelites. But now, at the dawn of the long-awaited “New Covenant” God would provide the ultimate blood sacrifice.

If Jesus dared to enter the city of Jerusalem, his enemies would have him arrested and executed. Knowing this, Jesus entered Jerusalem, not under the cover of nightfall, but in broad daylight and with great fanfare.

Before entering Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover, Jesus performed a miracle so powerful that it threatened to destroy the fragile peace that existed between the Roman Empire and the Jews. The solution was clear. In order to preserve the peace, it was decided that Jesus must be killed.

Our culture feeds us success in the form of fame, money, power, pleasure, and prestige from a very young age—a diet from which we will never grow satisfied. Living within our individualistic and consumeristic society, what does “success” mean to you? What does God have to say about “success"? And which voice are you going to choose to listen to?

Discipleship is made possible through a partnership between the collective membership of the local church and the individual members of the local church.

The leaders of the local church carry a burden and a responsibility for the people of the local church.

Within the life of a local church there is a tension that exists between grace and truth that must remain unresolved.

The priority Jesus gives to His Church is explicitly clear and absolutely counterintuitive.

Every individual local church must work toward one common goal. At the same time, each individual local church must fulfill its specific purpose within the global movement.

It is impossible to live into the fullness of the life that Jesus has predestined for you without the support of a local community of believers.

The Church belongs to Jesus. He has built His global movement on one foundational revelation.

As we move into 2021, let’s ready ourselves for the strengthening of our souls—our minds, emotions, feelings, and will. The key is literally at our fingertips. With God, let’s prepare ourselves for a beautiful year filled with the fruits of the Spirit: our most spiritually healthy year yet!
