This includes the entire “slick” (underside of the boards), leash plug, fin boxes, fins and fin key.” The Australian startup is looking at ways to integrate other recycled materials and sustainable non-plastic materials into their foamies. They aim at improving the manufacturing process, as well as packaging, to minimize the amount of new plastic used and waste created.

After years of experimentation, and with neither satisfied in their 9-5, they decided to turn their passion into profession. And so, Willie the Boatman was born. With no experience in running, let alone building a brewery, Nick and Pat started from scratch with little else to keep them going other than a belief in their beer, a belief in their brand, and an unwavering support from their local community. Countless buckets of blood, sweat and tears (not to mention many a late night beer) later, the brewery finally opened its doors to the public in 2015, and we haven’t looked back since. With community at the core of our business model, Willie the Boatman have stayed true to our original homebrewing ethos and remain dedicated to producing good, clean beer using an uncomplicated approach.

She joins us to champion our campaign for a Marine Park for Sydney – a beautiful region in which less than 1% of our waters are protected. Sharnie has a background in Science majoring in Psychology, she is fascinated by animal / human behaviour and interaction and how we can engage people in the protection of the marine environment. Sharnie is passionate about the ocean and spends much of her time underwater. She is a qualified dive master and regular long distance ocean swimmer. She brings a wealth of knowledge of experience previously working on the National No Shark Cull campaign. She has a great deal of hands on experience with working directly to rehabilitate sick and injured marine life and educating others about the importance of marine protection at her time working at SEALIFE Sanctuary.
