Michael Lothian brings Matty Dub back to GUTS, along with local nerd hero, Kerry Woodrow. Kerry explains how he avoided becoming a compulsive gambler, the guys wax nostalgic about what brought them into the gaming world and they tie up a few loose ends from our PAX 2013 episode. Just calm down is the bottom line of this week's Peeve.

Michael Lothian and Matty Dub welcome Eric Oka to his first podcast, to discuss their recent trip down to PAX 2013. Michael is disgusted by something Matty did on a Seattle street corner, the trio weighs the wins and fails of the convention, and Matty works out a great idea to make sure everyone gets a turn to play. Dr. Awesome and Mr. Michael invite The League's Creative Producer JJ Webb to talk about his place in the video game world. The next-gen inevitably comes up as we discuss a certain backtracking corporation and what decides our future in purchasing games for which systems. Dr. Awesome switches things up with a new twist on our "Peeve of The Week". 

This week we are pumped to have Corey Rollins, the Community Manager for local game developer Klei Entertainment, join Dr. Awesome and Michael Lothian for Gamers Under the Stairs. Michael discovers why he sucked at Don't Starve, and Dr. A confesses his love for all things Klei, he even bought a game twice he loved it so much. We talk about Corey's former gig, founding ShogunGamer.com, and what it was like handing over the reigns of such a personal and effective project. This week we're sans Dr. Awesome as Michael and guest host JJ Webb talk with Sam Sawyer about the Kickstarter and Beta Release of the two-stick shooter, DUBWARS. We learn how stressful a fundraising campaign can be, and get a look at the inner workings of the independent studio MURA Interactive. Pull out your gaming PCs and get ready for an interview with Daniel and Riley of The Anthymn, the fantasy adventure MMO that allows players of all kinds to create, share and wield music together to unite the land of Chora. These guys were great fun to talk to and their game concepts are "mind-blowing". Michael Lothian and the Dr of Awesome are getting fired up about next-gen console gaming recorded pre-E3 conference. Kinect is useless now, but soon the XBoxOne it will need 24hr check-ins and will watch your every move like a jealous girlfriend, the PS4 share button may become useful and how heartbreaking will it be when we lose our 360 game library? This week's Peeve is a little glitchy. 

This week on Gamers Under The Stairs, we bring you a special unreleased episode from our vault. Dr. Awesome and Michael are joined by our DemiGod Rob and his R.O.B. to talk about gaming in ye olde timey days. What games got us addicted, what games lost us and the first collapse of the console industry.

Casey White, Managing Editor of ShogunGamer.com joins Dr. Awesome and Michael in the Mancave to share his best and worst experiences in the video gaming industry. Michael alienates some listeners, Kutaku and Sega get some harsh criticism, and eventually the PS4 gets a little attention. 

Gamers Under the Stairs is back this week with guests Ricky and Geoff from International Space Pimps. Who are these Space Pimps we speak of? They are an ever growing group of PC gamers in the 604 and they tell us what they're all about. Ricky gives us a great Eve Online economy lesson and Dr. Awesome has finally found someone to play Freelancer with. Moving along to console gaming, the guys talk about the ups and downs of Far Cry 3. This week's peeve - Video Game violence is yet again blamed for someone else's bad behavior. 

This week Michael and Dr. Awesome are analyzing the Video Game Awards. They are dissapointed by the lack of new content, annoyed by Snoop Lion and Sam Jackson becomes this week's PEEVE OF THE WEEK. Bonus, Dr. Awesome learns the importance of considering your source. 

Back from hiatus, Dr. Awesome, Michael and their guest Aaron open with the buggy release of Black Ops 2 and if big title games are released unfinished or untested to meet deadlines. The Wii-U is the current and quietest console release and Michael only cares about the size of its power cord, Aaron thinks the handling is clumbsy and Dr. Awesome is not happy about the gigabyte hogging update. The guys touch quickly on 2 big released for 'Droid gaming and this week's PEEVE OF THE WEEK- Microsoft and the Xbox Dashboard.

 We were graciously invited to the beta opening of EXP Bar in Vancouver, and Dr. Awesome and Michael are joined by Jen Alaggia and Jimi Watkins, Bar Manager Supreme. We talk about the food, the drinks and the butt slaps shared by all. The gang moves into the topic of mobile gaming and thumbs down the Nintendo DS and surprisingly thumbs up the PS VITA. This week’s Peeve of the Week- Def Jam Icon… That is all.

Michael, Dr. Awesome and Jstebz discuss if they care about the Oculus Rift VR headsets or the Final Fantasy expansion. Dr. Awesome hates on Kanye, the crew talks the Ouya app-based gaming console, and this week’s Peeve of the week is pretty much… Sony.

Dr. Awesome, Michael and Jen from Booked! talk video game ratings and the ESRB. Is it the responsibility of the retailer or the parent to censor what games the younger crowd is playing? Jen gets biblical, Michael nostalgic and we learn the “Star Trek Rule”. Michael’s Peeve of the Week is all about the Vancouver studio situation. 

Dr. Awesome and Michael are joined by Steve and Marc-Andre to discuss Roger Ebert’s statement that Video Games can never be considered art. The crew questions Ebert’s relevance on the topic, and in general. Listen to the boys celebrate the artwork of their favorite games, and share a new peeve of the week: IGN’s Android App. 

The GUTS boys and their special guest Aaron talk the leaked information on the new Playstation 4 and Xbox 720 and have a hard time disguising their feeling of complete let-down.
