They were found dead the next day in a drainage ditch. Very quickly, police narrowed their focus in on Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley Jr. These three teenagers would become known as the West Memphis 3. Police pinned the murder on a man named Daniel Wade Moore after he confessed to being in the home during the murder. But the odyssey of Daniel Wade Moore would be a long one with twists and turns that ultimately led to his freedom. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murder of Karen Tipton. The police were so sure that Daniel Wade Moore had committed this extremely brutal murder. Their first conviction win against him went off without a hitch. But, over the years, evidence started to come out that had not been turned over to the defense. By Moore's 3rd trial his defense team began pointing the finger in the direction of Karen's husband David as having the motive to kill his wife. The question remains; who really killed Karen Tipton.
