  • Episode 37- Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

    13/04/2016 Duration: 30min

We go West for the 1969 classic, 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.' Danielle can't swim, Sam can't ride a bike, and Robert Redford is definitely not dead. Happy 150th birthday, Butch Cassidy! Zubba zabba zeee bazabba bow bowwwwwww!

  • Episode 36- Tomorrowland

    31/03/2016 Duration: 40min

Marco is back to discuss the overly complicated 2015 live-action Disney film 'Tomorrowland' with Danielle! We become obsessed with the socio-economics of robot-staffed shops, the welfare of hologram dogs, and monuments that are secretly rockets. Curse you and your many unanswered questions, Lindelof!

  • Episode 35- Rock & Roll High School

    08/02/2016 Duration: 30min

We jam out with the 1979 punk comedy classic 'Rock & Roll High School.' Sam is the Kate to Danielle's Riff (also the Hall to her Oates), Danielle has high-fived a Ramone, and we still don't really understand what hall monitors are supposed to do. RIP all the original Ramones and Darby Crash

  • Episode 34- Moonstruck

    23/01/2016 Duration: 31min

We bake bread and to fit the theme, we watch the 1987 film 'Moonstruck,' where Nicholas Cage plays a crazy baker. Jess has a Jim Carrey autograph lost somewhere in her house, Danielle forever eats alone, and we spend a lot of time doing bad impressions of many people. Featuring the debut of the hit new game show- 'Who Tweeted this: Cher or Riff-Raff?' hosted by Stanley Tucci. Note: Danielle now realizes Steve Zahn isn't in 'National Treasure' at all. She has no idea why she thought he was, but that's the beauty of this podcast.

  • Episode 33- Star Wars IV: A New Hope

    31/12/2015 Duration: 48min

Sam and Jess have both never fully seen any of the Star Wars movies, so Danielle FORCES them to sit down for the 1977 film that started it all, 'Star Wars IV: A New Hope.' Jess is less than impressed by lightsaber battles, Sam starts to see why Danielle loves R2D2 so much, Danielle administers a really silly quiz, and we all agree that Harrison Ford was/is a total babe. Please note, this was recorded shortly before 'The Force Awakens' was released, so all our discussions about it are not spoilers and instead simply speculation.

  • Episode 32- Poltergeist

    06/12/2015 Duration: 42min

Okay, so we're posting another Halloween episode in December... We've been busy and December can be pretty darn scary too. Deal with it. We watched the 1982 spooky classic 'Poltergeist.' Danielle is so used to gory movies that she can eat soup while watching 'The Walking Dead,' Sam has only ever seen a few real horror films, and we can't believe this thing managed to get only a PG rating. *Spoiler warning* We discuss other horror movies and their major plot points. If you haven't seen 'Psycho' or 'Night of the Living Dead,' be warned. Note: Danielle mistakenly mentions this movie is based on a true story. It isn't, but the instance she's referring to is the case of the Enfield Poltergeist. It's creeptastically interesting, look it up!

  • Episode 31- The Haunted Mansion

    22/10/2015 Duration: 27min

It's spooky season, so we watch the 2003 Disney film 'Haunted Mansion.' Jess accidentally creates an amazing new word, Danielle has a weirdly intrinsic trust in ghosts, and we wish we were on our favorite Disney theme park rides. My ghoul wants to party all the time, Halloween party all the time.

  • Episode 30- Danielle and Jess see One Direction!

    06/10/2015 Duration: 23min

In a very special non-movie episode, Danielle and Jess report live from their experience at the One Direction concert. Jess is sad she isn't there for football, Danielle is unaccustomed to concerts this large, and we have a great time despite being entirely too old to be at this show while not accompanied by children. WE WON'TTTTTTT ACT OUR AGEEEEEEEEEE.If you missed the episode where Jess first got Danielle hooked on One Direction, please give a listen to our 'This is Us' episode. How far our obsession has come since then.

  • Episode 29- Descendants

    30/09/2015 Duration: 54min

Danielle is joined by her long time friend and library co-worker Alison so that we have an excuse to watch the 2015 Disney Channel movie 'Descendants' together. It is our new obsession and it has made us rotten to the coreeee. Alison explains the secrets of Vine to old lady Danielle, Holly the dog needs to be more fashionable, Danielle is endlessly amused by Booboo Stewart, and we both desperately want to be extras in the inevitable 'Descendants' sequel(s).

  • Episode 28- Night on the Galactic Railroad

    11/09/2015 Duration: 47min

Danielle and her former flatmate, Matt (@vintagecoats) take a celestial journey with the 1985 anime 'Night on the Galactic Railroad.' Matt ponders candy bird legs, Danielle hates James Cameron's 'Titanic' and we have both been on the real life Hogwarts Express! Check out Matt's anime blog vintagecoats.net and the DVD/Blu-Ray re-release of this beautiful film out next month from Discotek!

  • Episode 27- Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of

    12/08/2015 Duration: 43min

It's another boyband episode! We watch the 2015 comeback documentary 'Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of.' Danielle hops on the BSB bandwagon a decade too late, Jess confuses a member of N*SYNC with a former SNL star, and we naturally have to bring up One Direction multiple times. We watched this late at night, so we get a bit silly in this episode. Sorry we're not sorry. *Please note that this movie is NR and contains strong language, which we didn't realize until watching it. Our episode is rated G as always, just be aware that the film is not appropriate for certain ages!*

  • Episode 26- Pokemon 2000

    26/07/2015 Duration: 46min

This month marks the 15th anniversary of 'Pokemon 2000,' which Sam and Danielle saw in theatres together way back when. Danielle manages to compare Pokemon to both Marvel characters and One Direction, Sam squees at her favourites in the adorable 'Pikachu's Rescue Adventure' short, and we both do many silly impressions of Pokemon voices. Special guest appearances from Plushie Pikachu and Japanese Squirtle figurine.

  • Episode 25- Clifford

    30/06/2015 Duration: 43min

Danielle is joined by her tour friend, Katie (a different Katie from previous episodes!) to discuss the incredibly bizarre 1994 flop, 'Clifford.' Danielle is slightly horrified by most of what's going on in this film, Katie explains how Dinosaur World would never pass safety inspection, and we talk Los Angeles public transportation, our dream sequal, 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmitt,' and more! Join us on the wild and incredibly dangerous ride that is 'Clifford.'

  • Episode 24- Now and Then

    14/06/2015 Duration: 29min

We watch the 1995 coming of age that has a place in every young girls' heart, 'Now and Then.' Finally, a movie Brendan Fraser is in! Danielle is a secret goth, Jess hates Hollywood parents, and we argue about '80s music but agree on this soundtrack. *Note: We briefly discuss 'the talk' but there's little graphic content, this episode is still SFW and appropriate for young ears as always!

  • Episode 23- The Pirate Fairy

    25/05/2015 Duration: 34min

It was only time before we had a Peter Pan related episode, so Danielle was joined by Samantha to discuss the 2014 Tinkerbell movie 'The Pirate Fairy.' Danielle still owns too many t-shirts from the '90s, Sam imparts more voice acting knowledge, and we both predictably swoon over Tom Hiddleston's voice. This film is available on Netflix, we definitely recommend you join in watching it with us!

  • Episode 22- Pete's Dragon

    15/04/2015 Duration: 46min

Danielle is joined by her friend Marco of the Get Trumpy podcast to watch one of his favourite Disney films, the 1977 half live-action/half animation musical 'Pete's Dragon.' Marco is in awe of Dr. Terminus' fabulous style, Danielle is concerned with the amount of day-drinking in this film, and we pitch our ideas for an updated reboot of 'The Warriors.' Notes- *Apologies for the slight occasional static, we were testing out a new microphone. *As of recording, Danielle did not realize that there is in fact a Lumberjanes trade paperback! Also, the 1940s noir comic she was thinking of is called 'The Fade Out,' though 'Fatale' is a similar comic series by the same authors. *Marco's podcast Get Trumpy (which Danielle will be a guest on in the future) can be found here  Warning, it contains NSFW adult language.

  • Episode 21- A Streetcar Named Desire

    22/02/2015 Duration: 32min

We delve back into the classics with the multi-Oscar winning 1951 film adaptation of 'A Streetcar Named Desire.' Danielle is joined by Sam and we discuss differences from the play, the Hays code era of old Hollywood, and the silliness of astrological signs. Danielle misremembers the infamous 'STELLA!' scene, Sam is bad at bowling, and everyone in this movie is insane.

  • Episode 20- Gnomeo and Juliet

    15/02/2015 Duration: 24min

Nothing says Valentines Day like Shakespeare mixed with lawn decorations, so we watch the 2011 film 'Gnomeo and Juliet.' Danielle is joined by her cousin Julia, who is an English professor as well as a goofy goober. Danielle just wants to gush about James McAvoy again, Julia realizes the loveable gnomes are basically gang members, and we both have incredibly similar sounding voices (sorry, but we ARE related).

  • Episode 19- Invincible

    02/02/2015 Duration: 24min

Have the post-Super Bowl blues? Listen to us talk football as we watch the 2006 film 'Invincible.' Jess is all about the Philadelphia Eagles, Danielle explains why she owns two copies of the first season of 'Wahlburgers,' and we both wish we were watching pretty much any other sports movie. Say hi to yer ma fer us.

  • Episode 18- Little Women

    23/01/2015 Duration: 30min

We watch the 1994 film adaptation of the classic novel, 'Little Women.' Jess scorches off her hair, Danielle dies of tuberculosis, and Holly the dog spends the entire episode in a post-vet drug daze swaddled in blankets on Danielle's lap. This is probably the only movie Christian Bale doesn't yell in and we make many (loving!) jokes about him.
