What We've Watched Podcast

This week we talk about Ken Russell's very loose adaptation of Bram Stoker's The Lair of the White Worm, an amusing horror film with a very young Hugh Grant, Peter Capaldi and Amanda Donohoe.

A hairy double feature for this episode with WolfCop and it's sequel, Another WolfCop. We look this pair of old-school feeling, Canadian made (and located)gore filled horror comedies.

From a series of older films it's time to jump to something ultra recent, as we often do, with Stallone's newest film, a gritty super hero flick - Samaritan.

This week e return to the nearly forgotten plot element of Data dreaming, with him having nightmares, then waking nightmares, then a thinly added B plot that works it's way into Data's dreams. It's a lot, but also very little.

This week we watched Wild Target, a 2010 rom/crime/com film with a great cast of Bill Nighy, Emily Blunt and Rupert Grint. Wild Target tries really hard but might not quite be the sum of it's parts.

This week is the conclusion to the Gambit 2-part story, will it live up to the premise set up in part 1? Let's tune in and see.

So we thought what could be easier than a top 5 of films that show the afterlife? The place where we could go when we die, films must be full of them? *Narrator Voice* "But films would not be full of them". We did it anyways and it turned out as a pretty great episode.

What do we have this episode? Space mystery? Check! Full crew on deck? Check! Great story and writing? Check! For us The Gambit (part 1) does not disappoint,

It's been a while but we were inspired to do an episode of The Pilot Program when we saw a trailer for a 1986 unsold tv pilot (turned TV movie) staring Scott Bakula pre Quantum Leap. It's quite the thing.

This weeks episode of The Next Generation they jump on the zeitgeist of the early 90's to completely misunderstand VR and Geordie puts his life in danger for dubious reasons.

Our brief Blob journey comes to an end with the 1988 remake of The Blob, a proper horror movie with great practical effects that unfortunately got overlooked in it's day.

As we break into season 7 proper we have an ambitious episode that does some good stuff but also reaches a little to far.

Buckle up as we take you on the never ending mediocre car crash that is this weeks movie. Beware! The Blob? More like Beware! This Film.

The final season of The Next Generation opens with Lore, Data, Borg and so many plot beats in an attempt to conclude the story from last week. It's a doozy and we are here for it.
