What We've Watched Podcast

Now that we are 3/4 of the way through 2024 it's time we take a look at our favorite films of 2023 - oops? It's taken us a while to make sure we've seen the best ones and we've got lots to talk about this episode.

This episode we finally watch the classic French noir film La Samourai starting the recently late Alain Delon. We discuss the film and maybe get a little carried away wondering about the pros and cons of not locking your car in 1950s Paris.

It's time to watch From Beyond, our "beyond" film for August, from the same minds that brought you the Re-Animator! A bizarre mixed bag of ideas, practical effects and filming style.

This episode we finally watch Point Blank from 1967 with Lee Marvin and Angie Dickinson. A wild ride of a film that just does not let up full of intense scenes and fairly revolutionary film ideas at the time.

This episode we chat long on the Beverly Hills Cop film, reminisce about the originals (well the first two anyways) and go long on movie titles and also the advantages of watching old(er) films and how that helps understand newer movies.

Our monthly "beyond" film land us on a strange Italian movie from the early 80s, The Beyond (renamed The 7 Doors of Death in it's US release).
