Rebellion started when Adam and Eve started looking for the wrong things and ended when people started looking to Jesus.

It helps to not just know who we are, but where we are. This will determine how we live and what we will do.

We are not on the Lord's side simply because we are saved, we are on His side when we walk in obedience to Him.

The Lord promises a time of silence due to the rebellion of the people. This silence speaks volumes to the people.

Amos was from the Southern Kingdom and was speaking primarily to the Northern Kingdom. He was also not a prophet but had a prophetic message. Are you speaking the message of the Lord to others?

Mourning is a critical process that leads to joy.

When our "belief" in God lacks love, it becomes fake and empty. We can fill our lives with religious things, but if we do not have love we are only a clanging cymbal.

Acting religious does not mean you are walking with God.

When we meet God, will it be a fearful time or a joyous time? That is the question and largely depends are whether we truly believe in God.

The purpose of a prophecy is to warn the people about their rebellion toward God. Amos reminded them that their wealth and power would not sustain them when the enemies surrounded them.

Obedience is the key to a life with God. Obedience frees us from the chains of this world.

In spite of the financial and military success of Israel, they were outside of God's ways. God sent Amos to warn them and bring them to repentance.

God sees and is just. Our actions do matter and God will act to correct injustice.
