Synopsis
A podcast by people who love The Simpsons, for people who love The Simpsons about how much we hate The Simpsons. Each week, "Worst Episode Ever" looks at a different non-classic episode of The Simpsons in an attempt to find which episode actually is THE worst episode ever.

WEE #34: MacGayver (S16E10 - There's Something About Marrying)
04/06/2015 Duration: 01h20minThis week, from a very hot WEE Studios, Dan & Jack celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month with Season 16's jumpy-aroundy episode "There's Something About Marrying," the episode where Springfield legalizes gay marriage and Patty comes out of the closet. Do the writers come out in favor or against gay marriage? How does this episode stack up against Homer's Phobia? And when will the famous publishing house Marhouse & Barton publish Dan's fan fiction? Plus, WEE twist the ceiling fan, learn about Huell Howser, and devolve our Ullman-era Simpsons voices into bad Sammy Davis Jr. impressions. We resisted our urges to create characters out of every misspoken word in an attempt to keep this episode on track. Did it work? Next Week: Season 18's The Haw-Hawed Couple www.weepodcast.com

WEE #33.5: South Park Did It Outtakes
02/06/2015 Duration: 16minDeleted scenes & outtakes from episode 33, South Park Did It including a discussion about the couch gag, the lame "jewels" joke, and the banner ads Marge encounters. Also, the true origin of Laugh Command and some regret about a recent episode ranking, all while Dan perfects his John Travolta and Jack gets distracted by fireworks. www.weepodcast.com

WEE #33: South Park Did It (S18E17 - Marge Gamer)
28/05/2015 Duration: 01h22minIt's a slippity-sloppity, flippity-floppity Worst Episode Ever, where Dan and Jack watch Season 18's Marge Gamer, which is coincidentally about Marge Simpson of "The Simpsons." Marge gets addicted to a World of Warcraft-like video game while Homer has his own wacky adventure coaching Lisa's soccer team. Since when does Lisa like soccer? Is Ronaldo the worst guest star voice on "The Simpsons" or a secret best? And how many elephants are in this damn room? All of this, plus our lack of soccer knowledge, our dead-on Sideshow Mel impression, and a general cavalcade of patented WEE nonsense! NEXT WEEK: Season 16's There's Something About Marrying www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #32.5: Groophic and The Ghost Outtakes
25/05/2015 Duration: 10minDeleted scenes and outtakes from WEE #32 - Groophic and the Ghost, including discussions about (both) Seinfeld finales, Boston Common, and Dan and Jack's immediate reaction to the birth and death of Little Ghost Girl. Also, they ask if Behind the Laughter is a clip show and Dan Frere Jacques the 80s film Flash Gordon. www.weepodcast.com

WEE #32: Groophic and the Ghost (S11E22 - Behind the Laughter)
21/05/2015 Duration: 01h19minGroophic and the GhostSome BODY once told us that Season 11's Behind the Laughter would be a great episode for Worst Episode Ever... so we watched it! Yes this extended parody of VH1's "Behind the Music" first aired 15 years ago (and slightly more than 15 years since Dan & Jack went to go see the Norm MacDonald bomb Screwed). It's basically a mockumentary looking at an alternate reality Simpsons family, and it's one of the least confusing things going on in today's episode. Would this have worked as a series finale for "The Simpsons?" Do people today even remember "Behind the Music?" (Does it matter for enjoying this episode?) And was this a record for how quickly the show fell apart? Plus, Groophic makes a new friend, the ghost of a child that Jack murdered who may or may not be real. NEXT WEEK: Season 18's Marge Gamer www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #31.5: Fresh of Breath Air Outtakes
19/05/2015 Duration: 17minHello? Deleted scenes ready for download. Who are you to resist it, huh? Come on, our last paychecks bounced. Our children need Popeye's! Featuring lengthy discussions about Mystery Men, Prison Break and the DC Multiverse, and Die Hard 2.

Special WEE-dition: Harry Shearer Leaving The Simpsons?!
15/05/2015 Duration: 21minA Special WEEdition recorded on our lunch breaks almost immediately after hearing the news that Harry Shearer is (might be? hopefully is not?) leaving The Simpsons. What might the show do if he really leaves? What does the long term future hold for the Simpsons? And how did we cram in a tangent about Superman Returns into such a short episode? (#notmyjorel) All that, plus returning guest Nick Noga and a mysterious ghost child from the future...? www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #31: Fresh of Breath Air (S26E11 - Bart's New Friend)
14/05/2015 Duration: 01h19minThis week Jack and Dan watch Season 26's Bart's New Friend, based on a spec script written by very famous man Judd Apatow in the early 90s. When Homer is hypnotized into being a ten year old boy, he and Bart become good friends... and that's kind of it. It's a simple plot and it (mostly) works. Who here hates stacked parking? How great is it to see a childlike non-jerk Homer just play with a dog? And what is the antithesis of hypnotism? All that, and bee plots, super soaker drones, what waters Jack's mouth and when it's time to go to war. NEXT WEEK: Season 11's Behind the Laughter www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #30.5: Frere Jacquing Outtakes
12/05/2015 Duration: 48minBasically a whole second episode, so if you normally skip these, check it out. It's deleted scenes & outtakes from episode 30, Frere Jacquing, that the Illuminati don't want you to hear--including lengthy conversations about the show's treatment of Homer's alcoholism, the stadium sequence, Burnsification, the opening theme and couch gag, as well as an overview of the first thirty episodes WEE watched and what role experimentation plays in the post-classic era. Also, Jack chastises Dan and special guest Brice for getting distracted by a helicopter shortly before getting distracted by a helicopter
-
WEE #30: Frere Jacquing (S22E17 - Love is a Many Strangled Thing)
07/05/2015 Duration: 01h20minOur Thirtyversary brings returning guest Brice Canedo-Pullan (the Grover Cleveland of WEE guests) and our very first Season 22 episode, Love is a Many Strangled Thing. When Homer makes Bart pee himself at a football game, he visits Paul Rudd and Kareem Abdul Jabar to rid himself of his desire to strangle Bart. Sure. Why not. What's the deal with this episode's completely insane story structure? Is he Paul Rudd or Paul Blandd? Will WEE ever get published on time? (Actually, we're switching to Thursday releases from now on.) Plus, the official Dalek theme music, more talk about Stephen King's The Stand, and yes, a little bit more Groophic. This one went so long that our usual deleted scenes is probably going to be a second full episode. That's either thanks for your patience or punishment for your complaining. NEXT WEEK: Season 26's Bart's New Friend www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE 29.5: Mayoween I: Old Dracula Fingers Outtakes
05/05/2015 Duration: 08minDeleted scenes from episode 29, Mayoween I: Old Dracula Fingers, including discussions on the funniest costumes from the episode, Jack's progress on his Cornelius Vanderbilt biography, Dan's Pokemon fart puns, and of course, more Groophic. www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #29: Mayoween I: Old Dracula Fingers (S17E04 - Treehouse of Horror XVI)
29/04/2015 Duration: 01h18minIt's the spooooky first annual Mayoween for Worst Episode Ever (in April), where we watch Season 17's Treehouse of Horror XVI, a Halloween episode (which originally aired in November). Makes sense to us. Have the post-classic Treehouses of Horror gotten a lot more gruesome? Why have they transitioned into doing four segments instead of three? And what is Dan going to do with all this mayonnaise? All that, plus Jack learns of the phrase "Smooth move, Exlax," the drama of blank seats at the movies, and our favorite Treehouse of Horror segments. On top of all that, new friend of the show, Groophic, reminds us to wear our bike helmets! NEXT WEEK: Season 22's Love is a Many Strangled Thing www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE 28.5: Knape Kills Bumblebore Outtakes
26/04/2015 Duration: 20minDeleted Scenes & Outtakes from Episode 28: Knape Kills Bumblebore, including discussions on Grumpy Cat, 22-episode vs 13-episode seasons, Far Side references and lots of movies and TV shows that aren't The Simpsons. Also, Dan Hedalek is almost shot to death outside and Jack fails miserably at a Borat impression. www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #28: Knape Kills Bumblebore (w/ Josh Kurp of Uproxx.com) (S23E06 - The Book Job)
24/04/2015 Duration: 01h20minA slight delay, but WEE're back with a brand new episode that may surprise you. Special guest Josh Kurp from uproxx.com makes Jack and Dan watch Season 23's The Book Job, a satirical take on the publishing industry that doubles as Neil Gaiman's comedy debut and an "Ocean's 11" parody. Lisa uncovers a sinister plot behind young adult novels that leads Homer and Bart to write their own. Doesn't sound like comedy gold, but maybe comedy bronze? What's the line between art and commercialism on The Simpsons? Why did we laugh at jokes we didn't even like? And is there a parallel universe where The Simpsons ended after Season 9? (And what are the us-es of that universe podcasting about?) All that, plus Josh talks about his history with The Simpsons, the first CDs we ever bought, and Jack's in-progress book series about coal miner angels. Sorry if the audio is below our usual standards, blame the Ghost Prots. For more from Josh, check out the WEE approved Uproxx.com. NEXT WEEK: Season 17's Treehouse of Horror XVI www.

WEE #27.5: Easy Baseball Analogy Outtakes
20/04/2015 Duration: 13minWEE talk about The Great Mouse Detective, Oliver & Co. and Suburban Commando, as well as the late Don Payne and get distracted by the ice cream man. An episode so good, Jack edited it twice! (We lost it the first time) www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #27: Easy Baseball Analogy (S14E06 - The Great Louse Detective)
15/04/2015 Duration: 01h10minWe're past the halfway mark of the year and we "celebrate" with the episode that broke Dan's love affair with The Simpsons, Season 14's "The Great Louse Detective." Yes, our first Sideshow Bob episode here on WEE. When an attempt is made on Homer's life, they turn to Sideshow Bob to root out the killer for no real reason. Was this a mystery episode that made sense? Was it worth it to bring Sideshow Bob back for this particular story? Will Bradley Cooper get his Oscar for "Secreting the Popeye's Elixir?" All that, plus, our favorite Sideshow Bob episodes, Hulk Hogan's failed rap career, and Frank Nelson's butthole. Suck it, Kurt Cobain! NEXT WEEK: Season 23's The Book Job www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #26.5: Eye-Ferno Outtakes
12/04/2015 Duration: 08minDeleted scenes from our 26th episode of Worst Episode Ever. Does anyone read these descriptions? Does anyone listen to these episodes? Who are our listeners really? What's the meaning of life? Why are we here? And why does Dan keep accusing Jack of farting? www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #26: Eye-Ferno (S21E16 - The Greatest Story Ever D'ohed)
08/04/2015 Duration: 01h04minBusiness as usual when WEE celebrate a belated Easter and Passover by watching Season 21's "The Greatest Story Ever D'ohed," a delightful episode where Flanders takes the Simpsons to Israel for a loosely defined reason, Homer is at his jerkiest and most sacreligious, and the fun never ends! (Because it never begins! Hah!) When did Bart's catchphrase evolve from "Ay Carumba!" to "Karate!"? Is Sacha Baron Cohen good in this episode or not? And who will win the Popeye's Ultimate Mystery Sweepstakes? All that, plus Dan Brown related puns, how old and out of touch WEE are, and impressions of Ullman-era Simpsons family members talking about butts. NEXT WEEK: Season 14's The Great Louse Detective www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #25: Guardians of the Miami (April Fools 2015)
01/04/2015 Duration: 59minSo it's come to this and we hope we're not looking like quite the fools. It's the first day of April and Dan & Jack have flown the coop after reviewing season 6's O-Henryesque anti-classic "Mom's the Word." Hopefully you're not feeling empty inside after hearing what we have to say, even though this episode is surely one for the birds! What actor was the Charlie Sheen of the early 90s? How was Cheech Marin the gum of "Golden Palace?" And where does Jeopardy! steal its questions from? All that, plus, the original non-ironic Quagmire, Ham Harry, and some cartoon show about a family or something. Now who's laughing, now who's laughing! www.weepodcast.com
-
WEE #24.5: Springfield Crazy Outtakes
30/03/2015 Duration: 11minDeleted scenes & outtakes from episode 24, "Springfield Crazy." Is Dan doing Joe Pesci or Coach Z from Homestar Runner? Why is Jack picking on people who've had tracheotomies? Also: more Krod Mandoon, The Brave and the Bold, Men in Black and Dan accuses Jack of farting yet again. www.weepodcast.com
