Katie is an 18-year-old high school student and the founder of a nonprofit called Kids Tales (KidsTales.org). Kids Tales sends high school students into summer camps and schools to teach creative writing to kids who do not have access to writing experiences outside of school. During a Kids Tales workshop, kids brainstorm, write, and edit their own short story. At the end of the week, the stories are published as an anthology, a real book. Since its inception in 2014, more than 300 teenagers have taught Kids Tales to nearly 1200 kids across twelve U.S. cities and eight countries. So AMAZING.
