Geils Band, Black Oak Arkansas, The Beatles & Jimi Hendrix for both musical inspiration and how to give “good show”. Cut to 2016 – Conte releases his “COVERS” album featuring many of the songs he & his band have played on tour – and captures that LIVE spirit in the recordings! The album features songs written and/or recorded by Eddie Cochran, Willy/Mink DeVille, Tom Waits/Ramones, John Lennon, Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Jason And The Scorchers – all delivered in pure Conte-style. David Godlis ,New Book photographs, Rock & Roll, Punk 'History is Made at Night'
09/09/2016 Duration: 01h50minDavid Godlis couldn’t believe it the night that Robert Frank walked into CBGB.“I was hanging out around the door and I thought, oh my god, that’s Robert Frank,” he says. “For me, that was the biggest thing that could happen, because I had studied photography and he was one of my idols.”Godlis says that from the moment he walked into CBGB, which was soon after he arrived in New York, he started thinking about doing a photo book. His inspiration was Brassai’s black-and-white photographs of Paris’s nightlife in the 1930s. “I thought, this place is so crazy and so cool, I should be taking pictures here, even though I’m a street photographer who shoots with natural light during the day. I wondered if I could be a street photographer shooting by natural light at night.”More than 35 years later, his book about CBGB, History Is Made at Night: Photographs 1976-1979, is finally here. Godlis showed the work to publishers over the years, but no one was interested in the grainy images, shot with long exposures instead of

Sarah Clanton, New Music , Nashville Film series on new artists !
31/08/2016 Duration: 56minSarah Clanton’s folk-rock-meets-speakeasy sound is a celebration of the unexpected. The classically trained singer-cellist-songwriter strums, bows, picks, and taps her instrument through heartbreak and vengeance on songs that grab you by the collar and refuse to let go. Her vocals can go from moonlit night to house on fire on a dime, with a tone that blends smoke with sunlight and lands somewhere between Nina Simone and Gillian Welch. After graduating from Furman University in 2007, the Nashville-based singer hit the road with artists like The David Mayfield Parade, Edwin McCain, and Richard Leigh, among others. Her hair-tossing, quirky, electric performances - an exercise in musical abandon - quickly became audience favorites. A self-titled EP released in 2015 included “Tequila,” an original song co-written by Clanton, Tom Bettencourt, and Richard Leigh, which made the Nashville Songwriters Association International Top 40 in January 2016. Recently signed by Nashville newcomers Torque Entertainment, Cla

17/08/2016 Duration: 01h08minBorn and raised in London, Simon landed a gig with a group called the Black Cat Bones. Soon ex-John Mayall's Bluesbreakers bassist Andy Fraser signed on and Free was officially formed in 1968. Mixing blues with hard rock, the group would prove to be quite influential, especially on the strength of their classic Fire and Water, "All Right Now." When the band broke up, it didn't take Simon long to find another gig, joining Paul Rodgers in a new band, Bad Company. Joined by ex-King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell and ex-Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, Bad Company was the first group signed to Led Zeppelin's record label, Swan Song. Their debut album, 1974's Bad Company, would go on to become one of hard rock's all-time classics, as it birthed such long-standing rock radio standards as "Can't Get Enough," "Ready for Love," and the title tr
