Kelli Tanghe and Team Ari: Pushing for Inclusion, One Race at a Time
14/11/2018 Duration: 13minKelli Tanghe and Team Ari: Pushing for Inclusion, One Race at a Time Kelli Tanghe promised herself that when her daughter Arianna, who has cerebral palsy and is legally blind, took her first steps on her own after years of therapy, she’d lace up her sneakers and start to run. Little did she know the journey that would follow. When Ari entered middle school, she voiced her disappointment being left on the sidelines in gym class and desire to compete in sports just like her older brother and sister. In order to get Ari off the bench and into the action, in 2012, Kelli pushed her daughter in her wheelchair in a 5k race. Since, they’ve crossed over 60 finish lines together, including multiple marathons, all while raising awareness for the inclusion of physically challenged and assisted athletes. Kelli is able to push herself through the miles thanks to encouraging words from Ari, who feels like her “disability disappears” when she races with her mom. Tune in as Kelli discusses how, even with the obstacles, Ariann

The Oldest Woman to Swim the English Channel on Retirement Adventuring
31/10/2018 Duration: 16minAt the age of 46, Pat Gallant-Charette’s son decided to swim an open-water race in honor of Pat’s brother who had recently passed away from a heart attack at the age of only 34. Even as a caretaker to her young grandchildren and a working nurse, Pat proved to herself and others that she could accomplish whatever she set her mind to. At the age of 66, she became the oldest woman to swim the English Channel, and she’s still competing and adventuring, proving that age is truly just a number. Sandy Hook Teacher Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis on Finding Hope After Tragedy
03/10/2018 Duration: 16minWhen a gunman opened fire inside the friendly, peaceful Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14th of 2012, lives were changed forever. First-grade teacher Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis, whose classroom was only a few feet from where the attack began, immediately sprang to action by hiding her 14 students in a 3x4 foot bathroom and keeping them quiet. Although she and her students survived, others did not, and the tragedy left the community frozen with dismay and unanswerable questions. In an effort to overcome the darkness and chaos, Kaitlin created an organization to promote kindness in the classroom and wrote a novel, Choosing Hope, to guide others who are suffering through hardship to find their light, one day at a time. From her heroic actions as a teacher, philanthropist, writer and speaker, Kaitlin was chosen as a 2013 Glamour Woman of the Year. The Big Rethink with Veronica “Niki” Fielding
19/09/2018 Duration: 16minSusan Michel, CEO of Glen Eagle, sits down with accomplished senior digital marketing executive, entrepreneur, writer and speaker Veronica “Niki” Fielding to discuss the “Big Rethink” and its implications in the business world. In the 80s and 90s, people considered success as two-dimensional and strictly financial. However, after the Great Recession about a decade ago, people began to ask themselves what they truly wanted out of life, and began to consider money as just a part of the success equation, alongside other personal factors and values. As part of the workforce, how should we restate our career goals as they intertwine with our personal goals? As employers, how do we work with the new realization that our employees might not stick around for long as personal journeys and growth begin to take priority over vertical promotions? A Balancing Act: Starting a Business with your Best Friend
08/08/2018 Duration: 12minTypical business advice often warns people not to start a business with their best friend if they want the company -- or the friendship -- to last. But Meghan Patke and Lisa Strangis have proven that with a shared passion and respect for each other, you can balance the friend and business partner relationship. Tune in as Susan sits down with Meghan and Lisa to discuss how they collaborated and compromised to make the business and relationship work.
