Cars Yeah With Mark Greene

Chuck Queener is an automotive artist and designer who lives near Westport, Connecticut.  He embraced a passion for Ferraris from the age of 12 and attended Art Center in Pasedena, California. Chuck was a driving instructor at the Jim Russell International Racing Drivers School and served as the President of the Ferrari Owners Club. He worked for Motor Trend and Road & Track magazines before becoming the founding editor of Cavallino. Year later he helped develop Rosso Ferrari for Ferrari North America as its editor and designer. He designed several books on Ferrari and Porsche and in 2006 he worked with David Bull on the gold-medal-winning The Alphabet and the Automobile. Today chuck is a contributing artist at Road  & Track magazine.

Robert Malke owns and runs Gulfstream Motorsports in Largo, Florida. He provides automotive appraisals, consulting, pre-purchase inspections, brokerage, and diminished value reports. He also hosts the weekly radio show, Nostalgic Radio and Cars, where he interviews legendary and fascinating people in the motorsports world. He is a contributor and writer for auction analysis reports and summaries for Sports Car Market and American Car Collector magazines. Robert’s been the voice of multiple classic car auctions and he is one of Florida’s representatives for Shelby American Automobile Car Club, SAAC.

Chad McQueen is a race car driver, actor, film producer, and consummate automotive enthusiast. He has raced in many forms of motorsports including Motocross, the Baja 1000, SCCA, Vintage events, and many other venues. He’s a big fan of early Porsches and still owns and drives his father’s 1958 Speedster in the hills around Los Angeles. Chad was a producer on a feature documentary titled Steve McQueen, The Man & Le Mans. It’s the story of a life changing passion for racing and his father’s involvement in the making of the iconic 1970 movie Le Mans. Today he continues to support The Boys Republic, a place that turned around his father’s life, by putting on The Friends of Steve McQueen Car Show that takes place on June 2 in Chino Hills, California on the Boys Republic campus.

Ben Erickson is an automotive author, restoration consultant, concours judge, and has authored books about French cars with past Cars Yeah guest Peter Larsen. In addition to being a connoisseur of the grand French classics, he is a Maseratisti fan having owned a number of them. Ben has a special interest in all things Iso as well as Swedish and American cars from the challenging years in the 1970s and 1980s when, as Ben says, “They did the best with what they had”. Although originally from Minnesota and brief stays in Finland, his time is split between Denmark and Thailand. As a linguist and fluent in five languages including Finnish, Ben also owns a translation company. Ben’s latest venture with Peter Larsen is a three volume series titled The Kellner Affair, Matters of Life and Death.      

David Story is an artist with a passion for automobiles. After 15 years in the construction business, he shut down his 45 home-a-year business and pursued his lifelong passion to be an artist. He moved to Inkom, Idaho and built a home and studio on the side of a mountain. David’s been a gear-head his entire life and has a passion for riding motorcycles. He paints a variety of genre from hot rods to race cars, farmers and their equipment, and the iconic Indy 500. David has 7 children, 21 grandchildren, and he, along with his wife of 40 years, do volunteer work in Uganda and Ghana Africa along with volunteer work in Idaho. Click Play To Listen. 

Ron Harris is the Co-Chairman, along with Chad McQueen, of the Friends of Steve McQueen Car and Motorcycle Show, a position he has held since the show’s inception in 2007. The show benefits The Boys Republic in Chino Hills, California. He was a vintage racer running with VARA, HSR West, and HMSA racing his 1965 Porsche 356 for 12 years. Ron started his own company, Better Beverages, a fountain beverage supply company to the foodservice industry, a company he owned an ran from 1969 till 2017. He is a past President of the International Beverage Dispensing Equipment Association, the Southern California Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the 356 Porsche Club of Southern California. 

Darren Reighard is the Founder and CEO of Cars of Carlisle Car Culture and Car Community. He is a podcaster with a focus on fostering a positive car community while celebrating car culture from the epicenter of the automotive swap meet world in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Darren has attended the Carlisle Car Shows since the age of seven and grew up in an automotive enthusiast family, being a fourth generation car nut. He helped his father restore numerous automobiles from Ford Model A to a 1968 Ford Mustang. His ventures as a sidepreneur keep him busy as does his day job as an IT Manager. Speaking of Carlisle, Lance Miller, CEO of Carlisle Events was a past guest here on Cars Yeah. He was guest number 120. 

Wayne Craig has a lifelong passion for automobiles and serves a number of concours at events around the country. He’s the Docent Chairman at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Race Car Chair and board member of the Ironstone Concours, he is on the Car Sourcing Committee and is the Lead Docent at the La Jolla Concours, a Docent at the Blackhawk Auto Museum, a Docent and leads the Hagerty Jr. Judges Program at the Hillsborough Concours and he is a photojournalist for various automotive publications. As if that isn’t enough, Wayne is the President and CEO of the Lodi Memorial Hospital Foundation. 

Jen Turcotte is the founder of Carsmotology, a professional, automotive detailing company located in Plymouth, Minnesota. She started her company after working it the detailing industry, perfecting her skills, for over 16 years. At Carsmotology, you can enjoy a variety of detailing options from cleaning to polishing, paint correction, waxing, specialized coatings, paintless dent removal, window tinting, and clear bras and coatings. Having overcome many gender obstacles in what has been a male-dominated industry, it has been her intense passion and hard work that has encouraged and inspired other women to break into the detailing industry. What is Jen’s latest venture?  She has started creating and offering her own line of car care products.

Lehman Keen is an American race car driver who was born and lives in Georgia. Know as Leh by his friends and fans, he has competed in the United SportsCar Championship and drove for teams including Alex Job Racing, Brumos Racing, Dempsey Racing, and Ferbacher Loles Racing driving Porsche GT3, Ferrari 458, and Mazda RX-8 FT cars. His newest venture is the Keen Project, a company he started in 2013 where they build turnkey modified Porsche 911s built in a theme and design that Leh has developed. One is the Safari style Porsche, a car that is inspired by late 70s East African and Paris/Dakar race cars, but his is a daily driver street car you can take to the track or off road. He also does driving for NBC Sports and automotive commercials.

Michael Bream is the owner of EV West in San Marcos, California. He and his team provide a wide variety of components for electric vehicle conversions and the support you’ll need to make them perform. They also provide ready to go kits to convert your special vehicle into an electric powered car for VW and Porsche marques, along with specialty EV race projects. Julian Avent owns Werks 11, a Porsche service shop in Temple, Texas. There he does OEM restorations and mechanical servicing with his team who are all Porsche specialists. He served in the Army for 20 years and all that while Julian knew he would open his own Porsche shop when he retired from the service. While he was in the Army he apprenticed in two Porsche shops, one in Belgium and the other in the Netherlands. He purchased his first Porsche, a 914, when he was just 16 years old and cut his mechanical teeth doing all the repairs and service on that car. Since then he’s owned over 30 Porsches ranging from 356s to 997s and he’s worked on the marque for more than 25 years now.

Frankie Waters is passionate about automotive restoration and her current project, a 1967 Mustang Fastback, is a vehicle her grandpa spotted that had been in a guys back yard since 1986. That was two year ago. Since then she’s done rust repair, paint, welding, replaced or restored parts, and rebuilt the motor. She won a video competition, writes a blog, and started her own YouTube channel that has a growing number of subscribers. Frankie’s been featured in Mustang Monthly Magazine, appeared in a video with Kellie Coff from Steeroids and Rob Kinnan, editor of the Mustang Monthly magazine. Oh, did I mention that Frankie, is only 14 years old?

Tony Whatley is a serial-entrepreneur, who is best known for founding the popular online community LS1Tech.com. This automotive forum has nearly 300,000 registered members, and grew to become the most visited GM-based performance forum on the Internet. Tony has also operated an online retail business for the last 10 years, Deviate Motoring, which specializes in wheels and accessories. If that weren't already enough, he also offers business consulting and startup advising, through his newest venture, 365 Driven.

Mark Halliar is the Publisher of Region Rides, a free monthly magazine that showcases the automobile, truck, and bike culture in Northwest Indiana. The area of Indiana where he lives is called the Region and it holds an extremely eclectic population due to its steel and oil industry. The car hobby in the Region is a melting pot where you’ll discover muscle cars, mini-trucks, bagged motorcycles, custom built choppers, modern sports cars including Camaros and Mustangs and Superbirds. Mark worked as a graphic designer for 18 years and then for a newspaper. Today he works for an advertising agency designing signage for major clients including Coca-Cola and McDonald’s. 

Mark Lambert is the owner of Lambert Auto where he specializes in servicing preservation cars, restoration, and tour preparation on American and European classics, sports cars, and racing cars. He has over 40 years of experience and is an Indianapolis native. His grandfather owned a successful Ford-based racing team in the 20s and 30s. He father taught him the value of driving and maintaining old cars. Lambert Auto is featured in the first of author Phil Berg’s best-selling book series, Ultimate Garages and Mark is a veteran judge at several national concours events including Pebble Beach and The Elegance at Hershey.

Dennis Pittsenbarger is the host of Discovery’s all-new series Sticker Shock. Frank Rubino is an automotive enthusiast and a long-time car collector from Coral Gables, Florida. He is a former professional race car driver who drove in the IMSA series for 12 plus years. In GTU and GTO and then Prototype cars winning the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1986. He is a Federal and International Criminal Lawyer devoted solely to protecting the rights of the accused for over 30 years. His practice works on the defense of complex criminal cases in federal and international courts and Frank has offices in Houston and Miami. He is an avid, annual supporter of the Keels and Wheels Concours and has displayed many of his automobiles at the show over the years.

Darryl Wischnewsky is the Owner and President of the Bayway Auto Group in Houston, Texas. He’s been in the automobile business since 1975 and opened his first dealership in 1995. Since then Darryl has gone on to build a formidable group of dealerships in Texas including; Bayway Lincoln-Mercury, Bayshore Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, and Jeep, Bayway Volvo, The Volkswagon of he Woodlands and BayWay Chevrolet.
