Synopsis

Comedians Dave Atkinson and Meg Mackay invite hilarious guests to go back in time to study the popular culture and history of a year and then watch the highest grossing movie of that year to try and find out why it was that year's Big Gross Movie.

    This week we throw a wig on the time machine and zip back to 1982 to have a look around and see its second highest-grossing movie: Tootsie with comedian Nigel Grinstead.  We go over some background on that time a guy tried to kill the pope with a bayonet, then go over the endless tomfoolery of Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie.

We go over an old baby lady, the time a hankie stopped George W Bush from exploding and then get angry as we try to go over a real big mess Georgie made.

    This week, we strap many guns to the time machine and fly strategically past the moon on our way back to 1989 to watch it's second highest-grossing movie: Batman with special guest Ryan Horwood!  We go over a 1989 beer-related nationwide pub crawl before diving into the reason there are still batman movies at all: Tim Burton's weird-ass joker movie featuring tiny Batman.

    This week Meg is away so we revisited one of the finest auteurs in bad cinema and checked out 1986s Cobra starring Sylvester Stallone, his ego, and some actors I guess.  With Special guest Craig Fay Dave goes over one of the laziest, uncooked movies ever made that is still somehow watchable.

We go over Mae West's cheeky puppet innuendos, an air disaster, several other disasters and then chew through the obviously problematic but wicked pretty cartoon made by moustaches, amphetamines and aaaaaaall the cigarettes.
