Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby made a visit to the Kansas University campus on Thursday, one of nine stops he hopes to make during a 14-day span as he gets the lay of the land at each Big 12 school. In addition to discussing some of the specifics of his visit to KU, Bowlsby gave a general synopsis of the current state of the conference.

KU defensive coordinator Dave Campo met with the media Tuesday and broke down the progress the Jayhawks had made so far in preseason camp: "Fundamentally, we're a better football team right now than we were when I came in here," Campo said.

KU strength coach Scott Holsopple met with the media today and gave some feedback on how he was able to transform the KU football players this offseason. Discipline, accountability and effort were words that came up a lot.

Thursday, fifth-year transfer Mike Ragone, a senior tight end from Notre Dame, met with the local media for the first time since arriving in Lawrence. In the weeks leading up to Thursday's introduction, several of Ragone's coaches and teammates said the media would love covering this guy. Ragone did not disappoint.
