UNIONS OPERATE LIKE THE MOB WHEN YOU TRY TO LEAVE Once you're in, you're NEVER supposed to be out. From a press release I got a week ago:Two King Soopers grocery workers have filed federal charges against the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 7 union in response to union officials illegally threatening to fine the workers, who chose to exercise their right to work during a strike. These cases, filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), follow a series of similar charges against UFCW union officials for issuing retaliatory fines against King Soopers employees in 2022. Both employees are receiving free legal aid from National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation staff attorneys.According to the charges, Local 7 union bosses illegally retaliated against Ryan Lamb and Lucas Martin by assessing presumptive fines and scheduling “trials” for each of them, despite the union having no authority to punish non-members. WHY DID THE ADL KNOW THIS AND NOT THE FBI? To the Anti-Defamation League's credit, they tried to tell the FBI about the hate groups online that seemed to be ginning up for more evil before the Evergreen shooting. The teen who shot two fellow students and then took his own life was active in the groups which urged murder and school shootings. Why can't we charge the people in these groups as accessories to murder? Can't we do that? It's the only way to make it stop. Jimmy Sengenberger joins me at 12:30 to chat about what this kid was up to before the shooting and it's not good. Not good at all.

It's part of Douglas County Citizenry's effort to elevate the dialogue and bring back those days where people could express differing viewpoints in a constructive way. Details are below, but I can already tell you that if you are a bad actor wanting to do harm probably half the people there will be skilled carry concealed folks. Just saying.

IT'S TIME TO GET GUNS IN SCHOOLS I've been too squishy about this in the past. Gun control is a fantasy. All the laws we've passed in Colorado did nothing to stop a student from shooting two other students in Evergreen yesterday and then taking his own life. It's time to put armed staff in schools, even though I realize that may not have stopped yesterday's shooting. Perhaps if students knew there were armed teachers they would be less likely to do things like this. Perhaps if we sent the message that schools are no longer a soft target it would give people pause. And I've got Laura Carno on today at 12:30 to talk about a program that has been in existence for years that uses a very high level training program to arm teachers or staff who volunteer to go through the program.
