    On the next episode of America in Russian, it's all about Soviet dissident Andrei Amalrik.  Most widely known for his famous book written in the 1970s called "Will Soviet Union Survive Until 1984?" Andrei Amalrik was a prolific writer and fighter for human rights. We'll begin the show by playing a letter by Andrei Amalrik, followed by a reply to his letter, both read by Dmitry Rashkin.  Finally, Dmitry will share his thoughts on the exchange.   The program is in Russian.

    Friend of the program, State Assembly Representative Amy Loudenbeck (R), representing 31st District,shares her legislative successes, including co-authoring Assembly Bills 14 and 15, which passed with wide bipartisan support, and to explain exactly what AB 14 and AB 15 will do.  State budget is our next subject of conversation.  Representative Loudenbeck gives her reaction to the proposed State budget, compares it to the last one, and also shares her perspective on the new rules at the Capitol, severely limiting ability of the general public to record various public proceedings.   Ed Fallone is a Marquette University, School of Law Professor, running for Wisconsin Supreme Court.  His competition is Pat Rogensack who is running for re-election.  Few days ago, Professor Fallone stopped in Janesville where he spoke about his background, and why he is running.  He also answered questions from the audience.  If you want to get to know a candidate for one of the most important elected positions in Wisconsin, here

    On this podcast, Yuri checks in with two friends of the show: Wisconsin State Assembly Representative Andy Jorgensen (D), representing 43rd Assembly District, and journalist Rebecca Kemble, who writes for the Progressive Magazine. Representative Jorgensen talks about his recent legislation, designed to help promote Wisconsin manufacturing nationwide, which passed Wisconsin Assembly with wide bi-partisan support.  Andy also talks about the proposed state budget, and what he will be working on next. Rebecca Kemble writes for the Progressive Magazine and she checks in to tell us who gets the big giveaways in the latest proposed State budget, as well as her frustration with the lack of indictments in the John Doe investigation and the inability of main stream media to cover important stories.

    We begin by checking in with Becky Weber-Johnson of Spotlight on Kids, about the "School House Rock" production, happening this weekend at Janesville Performing Arts Center.   Next, Discover Janesville City Correspondent Dan Hartung updates listeners on all things Janesville.  We look at January home sales and reminisce about the days of easy mortgages.  We examine where the I-90 is headed and try to figure out if the casino project in Beloit will ever become a reality.  Consolidation of fire departments could become a big issue, and we examine it carefully, laying out potential scenarios where this theoretical discussion could become a reality.  Blackhawk Technical College expanding to Milton is a big deal, at least in part because it takes up existing available commercial real estate, but also because it bypasses downtown Janesville.  Finally, the good thing about all this snow is that our drought conditions could be coming to an end.  Tune in!
