Available nationwide in the United States and in 87 other countries, Bookshare provides books and printed materials in five accessible formats, such as electronic Braille and DAISY synchronized text with audio. We'll hear from participants, volunteers and AMI-audio hosts Mike Ross, Norma Wick and The Neutral Zone's Brock Richardson. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics. The organization provides sports training and athletic competition year-round in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This gives them the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
