The Dell EMC forum event in Dallas Texas, September 13th 2016 represented the first “Dell EMC” marketing event.  The evolution of the long standing EMC forum event services, a one-day free technology event allowing IT professionals to explore business trends, cloud directions, use cases and beast practices. Talk CI in the tech industry today, and most people think Converged Infrastructure, and rightfully so.  There is, however, a minority that immediately think Competitive Intelligence--the other CI. While most associate Competitive Intelligence with Secret Agents and Espionage, that stereotype couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, there are professional organizations like SCIP “Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professional” dedicated to providing a platform for strategic intelligence, research decision-support tools process and analytics.
