Bit Storm

Ben and Trevor are back for another round of Bit Storm, attempting to design games using random words and questionable logic! This week, they dove into Click Pitch, and the results are as delightfully unpredictable as ever. The games discussed includeA game where two planets fall in love and chaos ensuesA bounty hunter game set in the star wars universe with Carmen Sandiego like investigation and a totally new gameplay enhancement system.A time travel game where you must orchestrate a meet cute.

This week Ben and Trevor take all their Click Pitch prompts and merge them into a single MMO, with features such as:telepathic characters via the Shining;health systems and weight loss;pranking celebrities;and more!

Ben found another clip of the Big Flip Saga, so we are playing it. Dave/Cody, Harold and Oliver Pebbles learn all about working with childrens checks, how to make games and the healing factor of a spiggot.

Ben and Trevor play some regular old Click Pitch, pitching game ideas such as:a Superstore and Monster Prom inspired VR game where department store drama happens around you while you worka pharmacy deduction game where you must decode doctor's handwriting to dispense the right medicinea prophet who must ensure their prophecies are fulfilled as they go about their dayand more!

Ben and Trev delve back into games that were never developed from movies. Some of the games discussed this week were:A comedic wing commander-esque gameAn adventure game set in a precinct where the captain has been replaced by their serial killer twinA run based crime syndicate simulator with a Batman-esque "villian"

Ben and Trevor take some more random movies and turn them into game designs, including:an extraction shooter take on Blue Prince;a modern remake of Spy vs Spy;Boss Baby as a lawyer;and more!

Ben and Trev continue with more Click Pitch live in Ben's office. They discuss more games that don't exist like:A point and click investigating paranormal goings on.A mystical spy thrillerA horror game where you literally can't miss a moment.

Trevor and Ben get together in person for a hands free Click Pitch, coming up with game designs such as:working in the medical lottery office of a dystopic future society;escaping an open air prison in the middle of a vast desert;ancient playwrights battling it out, Call of Duty style;and more!

With Trev finally getting the What 3 Words generator to work again, Ben and Trev get 3 words as their prompts and deliver such gems as:A proceedurally generated pest control gameA scientist must defend a barge from a giant krakenA game where you get to use paper mache in VR

Ben and Trevor, Click Pitch, jam 'em together and you get some fun improv game designs, such as:a Bulletstorm-esque first person brawler where your fists are made of diamond;a storylet driven sci-fi game set in the lead-up to an intergalactic war;a non-violent Hitman style game where you are investigating your environment to determine the best love matches;and more!

Ben and Trev have been playing a ton of deductive games, such as Return of the Obra Dinn, The Roottrees are Dead and a new free game called Type Help. As such they try their hand at designing 3 deductive games with different mechanics. The games discussed include:Collating evidence and piecing together old crimes after the digitisation was corruptedTracing paths and connections people took through a state/county.Analysing your neighbours through garbage.

Ben and Trevor play some Click Pitch, for better or worse! They come up with games such as:an Apogee style platformer revolving around smashing papaya;figuring out alien body language in a first contact situation;figuring out the strange place your village has been built;and more!

Ben and Trev have been making a fair few adventure games recently (check out bslinger.itch.io for the games) so they thought it was about time that they return to the Adventure Game Design Done Quick format, but as this show is now a 30ish minute format they had to change it to QuickeR (Hence the extra R).
