Synopsis
Perspective is a weekly public affairs program hosted by Richard Baker, communications professor at Kansas State University. Perspective has been continuously produced for radio stations across the nation by K-State for well over six decades. The program has included interviews with dignitaries, authors and thought leaders from around the world. Supported by county, state, federal and private funds, the program has county Extension offices, experiment fields, area Extension offices and regional research centers statewide. Its headquarters is on the KState campus in Manhattan.

And she says not only is the war’s effect minimal, it has also evolved into a racist and xenophobic effort. Research indicates bullying is destructive to a child’s well-being, and the impact can range from trouble sleeping to severe psychiatric problems. However, the problems do not end with childhood. One researcher and therapist says the impact can carry over into the lives of adults, and her research shows that adults who were bullied as children many times have health problems, struggle to trust and have low self-esteem. This week's guest is Dr. Ellen Walser deLara, the author of "Bullying Scars: The Impact on Adult Life and Relationships." She is also a family therapist and professor of social work at Syracuse University. Severe Weather Season in KS - March 6, 2017
06/03/2017 Duration: 27minLast year there were 102 tornadoes in Kansas … that was 40 above the 19-50 to 20-16 average of 62. Luckily, despite the increase, there were no deaths in Kansas and only twelve injuries. In 2016, the National Weather Service says tornado season lasted 270 days, with the first tornado reported on March 30 in Cowley county and the last tornado on December 25th in Saline county. On today’s Perspective program a look at the upcoming severe weather season, and despite the fact most of you have heard about tornado safety in one form another most of your lives, the fact there were no deaths last year and only twelve injuries was not a fluke.
