This episode is about Lexus cars. Specifically the Lexus LC 500 and it’s hybrid version. Matt Eugenio spent a week with the full blooded LC500 and Christian Moe lived with the hybrid version for a week. So I got them together to discuss and contrast the two versions of the Lexus flagship.Of course the conversation eventually veers off course. In this episode Adam Nielsen from the Ten Tenths Podcast joins Ian to talk about cars. They discuss the idea of electric race cars re-invigorating the popularity of motorsports. Adam calls Ian out for not taking his car to autocross yet, then they explain how to become an Autocross and RC car racing champion.They then field listeners questions about things like new car options and replacing their own cars. Then Ian confuses RUF with RWB because acronyms are annoying. 

Mark is back this week and we launch straight into talking about Forza and the upcoming releases of Project Cars and Gran Turismo. We then talk about the 2018 Honda Accord; both the good and the not so good news. We also talk about the slightly baffling Volkswagen Arteon before going to listener questions. Someone wants to know our preference in high displacement low revving engines Vs. low displacement high but high revving engines. An interesting engine swap question brings up more questions, and someone wants to know which of us would be fastest in a t?ge competition.  

This week Mark couldn’t make it, and Cragon from the Shifts And Grins podcast joined Ian. We get a run down of Cragons car history, that includes a Both Hand Drive favorite - a Honda Accord Coupe. Ian tells a story of being schooled from the lights by a girl and Cragon met a drag racing truck.After discussing the term ‘ricer’ briefly, they turn to listener questions. Those cover eastern bloc cars, things we do and don’t like about car culture, and what to recommend as good normal car?Someone also asks about thing in car culture that are annoying, and that leads to a rant from Ian. 

 Chris Pollitt returns to talk with Ian this week. Chris is excited about the lunatic new Jaguar XE Project 8, Ian drove some Cadillacs and rather liked them but neither of them like the new Lincoln Navigator. Ian half remembers half a story someone told on another podcast that he can’t remember and is fascinated by the idea of night vision driving. Listener questions bring up the subjects of driving in hot weather, picking a car to buy for $150,000 as both daily and fun car, badge engineering cars and Chris’s American car history. They also delve into the perfect car under $8000 and the Miata/MX-5 is hardly mentioned.     

Chris Pollitt is back to talk cars with Ian. We find out the fate of Chris’s SAAB and Ian gives his theory of old car economics before giving terrible explanation on why California switches to a summer blend of petrol. This week Ian is joined by Alan Bradley of The Motoring Podcast, who explains how the motoring landscape has changed since Ian escaped to the sunny side of America. They remember Mondeo Man and the phenomenon of the sales rep hanging his suit jacket in the window. There’s lots of tangents including driving in France, and the car Alan owns but Ian has never actually heard of.They talk about the passing of Roger Moore and the cars he’s associated with, and try to avoid talking about Dieselgate but fail.There’s a little in depth talk about the Ford news this month before moving into listener questions.
