Humility; Prayer
09/10/2016We are a hospital, not a country club.” That statement—long heard around Wheaton Bible Church—has taken on even greater significance as our church has refined its mission and values. If that kind of humility is embraced in our lives, Pastor Rob says, it will change not only our church, but will transform our individual relationships as we allow others to see the Gospel at work in our lives.
-
Community; Leadership Development
02/10/2016Small Groups Pastor Phil Shields continues our exploration of the mission and values of our church, focusing on two of our values that relate to community life within the church. Pointing to the truth of Hebrews 10:19–25, Pastor Phil reminds us that the Gospel that transforms us and empowers us to live boldly for Christ, is meant to be lived in community with others, relationships in which we give and receive—spurring each other “toward love and good deeds” and “encouraging one another” in the long race of life.
-
Priesthood of All Believers; Deep and Wide
25/09/2016Continuing our studies on the mission and values that guide us as a church, Pastor Rob explores the implications of two central truths: 1) Everyone is called to all-the-time ministry, and 2) Healthy believers go deep and wide. Gospel Centrality
