Looking at all that is happening in our world today, people are beginning to wonder, How much horror can we handle? If God is sovereign, Pastor Rob says, this is not the time to hunker down in fear, but to serve and respond with hope, and live out our love for God before a watching world.

Continuing our studies in 1 John, Pastor Hanibal takes a fresh look at worldiness, reminding us what worldliness is, what it is not, and three reasons why it is possible for us—as His children—to resist the strong desires for things of this world that might otherwise defeat us.

The New Testament book of 1 John, Pastor Rob says, keeps returning to two central themes: loving God and loving others. In chapter 2 we discover how our love, or lack of love, for others reveals the authenticity of the faith in Him that we profess—but it is only as we recognize the depth of His love for us that we are truly able to love others.

The joy promised to Christians isn't an occassional, "hit or miss" joy, but one that is permanent and complete. Pastor Rob continues this series from 1 John by looking at three ingredients of joy: basic beliefs of those who experience fellowship with Jesus Christ.

This message introduces this 10-week series on the New Testament book of 1st John—105 verses that explain how to live out the two great distinctives of the Christian faith—loving God and loving others. Pastor Rob begins by walking through the four ways John tells us we, as believers, demonstrate our love of God.

As we conclude our series, Pastor Rob explores what the Scriptures say to believers about this final Fruit of the Spirit—and why it is far less a matter of the will than a focus on the desires of our hearts.

“Gentleness,” Pastor Phil Shields reminds us, “isn’t a form of weakness, but a God-like trait that is full of power.” It’s a trait, he adds, that Jesus models toward us—and when we reflect His gentleness toward those around us, our attitudes and actions can impact the lives of others now, and for eternity!

“God’s people, infused with His gifts—His fruits,” Pastor Lon says, “is exactly what our world needs.” But what does a God-led, fruit-filled life look like, and how is it possible? Continuing our Fruit of the Spirit series, he examines the fruit of faithfulness, and how God can empower us to be faithful to others and to Him.

Continuing our Fruit of the Spirit series, we are reminded that God intends for His followers to be conformed to the image of His Son—and He provides us with the fruits of the Spirit as a picture of what that looks like in our lives. Turning to the fruits of goodness and kindness, Pastor Lon explains how we can foster a sincere desire for other peoples' welfare and take actions that advance their well-being

With instant entertainment, communication, and commerce, we live in an increasingly impatient culture. Yet God calls His people to exhibit spiritual fruit which can only build slowly and steadily over time.
