Almigos

This week on Almigos we go in depth .... on a lot of stuff to be honest. Yeah I know the title says overrated movies and we do hit on that but we kinda go all over the place with this one. Jon and I give our reviews of the biggest movies that have come out in the last few weeks as well why Johnny Depp and Marlon Brando are bad human beings. So yeah enjoy this episode where we talk about 30 different things. 

This week on Almigos, Jon and I go in depth about the state and future of streaming services. Can Netflix and Hulu last with Disney's upcoming streaming service releasing in late 2019? Has the market stagnated due to lack of innovation within the market? This is definitely a topic that goes into a lot of different aspects so listen in and hear our thoughts!

Finally, we are done talking about the MCU and have moved on back to our regularly scheduled programming. This week on Almigos, we are talking about music infused films. Not music bio-pics, that is an episode for another day and films where music is infused within them. Think of films like A Star is Born, La La Land and Begin Again. Hope you find a movie you didn't know about and fall in love with the soundtrack. 

Well, we gave you two weeks if you're one of the 3 people in the world who hasn't seen it: enter at your own risk. Avengers Endgame has finally arrived and it is everything we wanted it to be. It is a somewhat messy but amazing closing chapter to the first story arc of the MCU started 11 years ago. Taylor Amato returns to see how our predictions panned out as well as our thoughts on the film. Don't miss out on this big episode. 

We truly are in the endgame now! Avengers Endgame is 4 days away and we brought on special guest Taylor Amato to talk about predictions, deaths and some of the biggest moments from arguably the biggest movie of the decade! We know all your doing this week is thinking about the movie anyway so listen to us as you try to kill time all week til your showtime!

The hype for Endgame is unreal and it's coming a lot sooner than you think. So Jon and I decided to go back and rank all 22 of the previous Marvel Cinematic Universe films to decide which is the best. I mean Jon is completely wrong in his entire listing but yeah why not give it a listen anyway 

Winter has finally arrived and we brought back the Game of Thrones roundtable to talk about it. Joe Rauchet, Donato Gaudiuso, and Brendan Murphy return to talk about the most epic series put to screen and who will end up on the iron throne. We go deep into how the show could end, who will survive and who might make it out alive. Thrones is finally back baby!!!

Usually, on Almigos we have a tight script and outline of where we want our episode to go. On this episode, Jon and I got a 12 pack and talked all over the place for a while. We discuss some of the big movies that have come out recently Captain Marvel, Us, Shazam and some of the movies we're looking forward to this summer. 

This week on Almigos we have the king of Staten Island horror: Michael Pelczar. Mike has made a name for himself with his amazing photography and interest in everything creepy. We get to go into depth about how he got started and what goes into his amazing Halloween photoshoots. Of course, we also have to start talking about some movies and have a great conversation about some of our favorite horror movie monsters. So check it out and don't miss this great episode.

Yep its that time of year again: The Oscars. For film fans, it's our Superbowl and the time where all we do is complain and say how the Oscars don't matter but regardless we still watch. Jon and I are going in depth in most of the major categories and what we thought of the winners, losers and snubs. 

Yep it another debate episode, this time Jon and I try to figure out who is the more influential and better director: David Fincher or Christopher Nolan. Fincher's resume reads like posters off college dorm rooms (Fight Club) and some of the most gripping thrillers of our generation (Seven, Gone Girl). While Nolan's resume has been looked over as some of the most creative and popular movies in decades (Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar). So listen in and decide who won!

This week Jon and I went through the trenches of films to bring you some awesome hidden gems you might not have known about. Every year there are a handful of films that are amazing in quality but tend to be overlooked or overshadowed by the blockbusters. We picked some of our favorites for you to check out so yeah go do that. 

We gave you a year for it to soak in, analyze it, and gather your thoughts because this week Almigos dives into one of the most debated movies of the last decade: The Last Jedi. Halftime host Anthony Figliozzi sits in this full dissection of the film from top to bottom trying to answer some community's biggest issues with the film. This episode has been a long time coming, don't miss out 

In this unique episode of Almigos, we have friends of the show John Rizzo and John Clinton to talk about their new movie "Painting with Paul". Rizzo wrote and directed this short as his thesis film while Clinton played the titular Paul. This week on Almigos, special guest Mike Reis returns to show to talk about one of the most popular shows on T.V right now: Rick and Morty. The show is one of the most interesting to come out in the last few years, blending sci-fi, crude humor and well all the weird fucked up stuff that come out of the minds of Justin Roland and Dan Harmon. So get ready to get Riggty Riggity Wrecked Son!

Another year, another top 10-year list from your favorite podcast. 2018 was a strange year for movies, the Oscar movies didn't quite live up to par in comparison to other years while some other smaller indies and blockbusters surpassed expectations. So tune in to hear Jon and I's personal top 10 films of 2018!

Still, have that holiday spirit? This week on Almigos Jon and I are joined by friends of the show Brendan Murphy and Alexa Pastor.
