  • Delivering a full-term baby that was dead, working as a physical therapist for horses and combining horse trauma and her trauma to heal them both and open that up to others - with Helen Brennand

    28/10/2019 Duration: 58min

Helen and I connected and it was so amazing. Taking writing and attaching the experience to a horse is so appealing to me as a writer, I longed to go visit her, let a horse "choose" me and write book #2. With such an amazing background, she allowed her experiences with the horses to shape how she designed her business. The work she's doing is so fantastic and I love her story.  FACEBOOK: helenbbooks SONG: BOOKS: http://www.belief444.com/the-books.html WEBSITE: http://www.belief444.com/home.html EXCERPT: file:///Users/tempadmin/Downloads/2C2C-Cont-Author-Helen-Brennand-Press-Kit%20(1).pdf ABOUT THEM: The Haven is a home for animals, it is a peaceful environment centered around our herd of horses who provide healing for people to help them find balance and harmony in their lives (see Healing with The Herd). We also offer a service of holistic rehabilitation for horses and ponies recovering from illness, injury or trauma. • Crippling anxiety while traveling the world, feeling not present in life with debilitating psychogenic pain to becoming a Life and Confidence Coach - with Savanna Schiavo

    22/10/2019 Duration: 56min

Savanna and I discussed crippling anxiety, doing amazing things but feeling overwhelmed and not present in the moment to the point that she had debilitating psychogenic pain. She learned how to change that, turn it around and not only move through her own anxiety but to become a Life and Confidence Coach. Through it all, she remained with the love of her life - which is amazing. She learned to let go of severe anxiety over health, safety, and money as well as feelings of self-doubt. She learned to live big and be true to herself. It was an honor spending time together. 22/10/2019 Duration: 58min

Karen and I met again for an update of information.  As I know Karen personally, I get to see the impact she has made and is still making in the lives of prisoners - including having a former prisoner as a roommate in her house. Her focus is on using the prison system to rehabilitate people and send them into the world not only better than they came in but as contributing, adjusted people. She spends her time now teaching from the stage.  In her words: I'd like to talk about how to use one's creativity to help transform institutions and society. I think that there is a lot of pain in the world that the medical and the correctional world both get wrong. Both concentrate on the endpoint which is preventable, costly and tragic. I think that creativity through stories, poetry, art, music and how we can touch other people's lives in positive ways can help transform systems and societies. I'll talk about why I wrote my book, but I'd also really like to talk about the healing I saw take place in the priso

  • Stripping With My Daughter Alana - Parenting Teens

    03/09/2019 Duration: 01h03min

Today Alana and I discuss parenting teens. As a parent, I was not permissive but not restrictive. I trusted my kids even when I knew they were lying. They knew they could always come to me, although I wasn't always the first choice. They really relied on each other - which I love. Not all of them choose to communicate with each other or me, which is really hard to watch and feel.  We talked about sex, drugs, sneaking out, alcohol at 16, and birth control among other things. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/becoming-parents/message
