You’ll forgive us if we’re a bit cranky this week. You see, in a weekend where we are supposed to celebrate the folk who have led this great nation (like Washington and Jefferson and Lincoln), the leaders of the free world (like Roosevelt & Kennedy), the pillars of our society (like Eisenhower and Thayne), we are left scratching our collective heads. Because after watching the prettiness that was the pulverizing of the Pilots in Portland, we were subjected to that SMU stinkfest. So here at Free Ira Brown, our heroes are left to wonder: What in the name of William Howard Taft happened to our friend Kyle? Was he worrying about the recent New Hampshire primaries? Thinking about which ski resort to hit up on Monday’s holiday? Are his numbers trending down or did he simply have a bad day at the (oval) office?   All this and more in the latest edition of Free Ira Brown, THE Gonzaga Hoops podcast. Do join us, won’t you? Hey everybody! It’s a happy-go-lucky Free Ira Brown! In our latest episode (Season 2, Episode 15), our heroes keep an eye on the bright side of things despite a tough road loss. We’re down but not out. We’re not letting this game get us down. We took one on the chin but we’re keeping our heads up, our thoughts positive, our -- Lies. These are all lies. We also recap the horror show that is the second half of our five losses, take stock of the team at the conference mid-way point and preview (sort of) the upcoming games against Santa Clara and USF. Also, sorry, but we couldn't help but let a few swears loose on this one.  

We won’t lie, it’s not been the best of weeks here at Free Ira Brown. So in order to prevent our heroes from overdosing on their preferred coping mechanisms we brought in a special guest. Our latest offering (Season 2, Episode 14) has a member of the House McCarthey – yes, those McCartheys -- to help us dissect the BYU cluster (breathe…deep breath…breathe), share stories from the road and get a little insight on what it’s like to be so close to the Gonzaga program.

Demons purged, monkey thrown off back, .  Gonzaga is bound for the elite 8 against an excellent Duke squad with one of the most dominant players in the college game in Okafor.
